Hello. I'm Ruru from JD. I'm available for escrow service. There's something sexy about popping right out of the blue and being able to escrow.. and with what? a few posts?

I had dooglus "hostage" 250 BTC over at JD in case I get hit by a bus, die, or get tickled and dumped by a river-dwelling monster somewhere.

I'd like to start with smaller escrow cases around 10-50 BTC range and I only take 1 case at a time for now. I will lay out the protocol. I'm quite responsive most of the time; I can respond generally within a moment's notice.

1.) clients will post a designated payout address where I would release the funds after the tx is complete.

2.) in case there's a dispute between the buyer and seller, I will use my own judgement to work out what's best for both parties involved.

3.) I take a 0.5% fee

Ruru's been pretty much a constant presence on the Just-Dice chat since shortly after launch.  Yesterday he asked me to block his account from withdrawing and gambling coins so that if he attempts to run from his escrow job, I have access to enough of his funds to cover any losses.

He has a little over 250 BTC in his account that he has invested, and which he doesn't have access to.

I don't know how trustworthy he is, but he does know his high-end sushi.  

Edit [Sun Dec  1 23:43:13 PST 2013]: I'm no longer holding any of Ruru's coins hostage.

I've tried several times to get a clear statement from him about whether he wants me to hold them or not any more, but the best I've been able to get is:

Bowjob is an idiot investor who gets scammed and loses coins all the time.
Ruru is a stone cold investor, much much wiser than before.

I didn't make 'Ruru' just for this escrow BTW, I needed a restart.

I read it, and it is irrelevant. The wise person doesn't scam straight away, they build "trust" over several months, sometimes years. At that point, your friend might no longer be around, 250 BTC might not be enough to cover upcoming deals, as well a couple of other trivial situations that can occur.

If anything, it is a good signal that you didn't try to dispute my initial claims.

To be honest, that doesn't really matter if another user that I trust will be holding onto a collateral if Ruru decides to run away as an escrow.  I will be using him as a second option, which is a good thing

Anyone that stays in the JD chat for a minute or two will get the picture of what kind of person ruru is. The guy keeps talking about how he is worth ~250k, has contacts, can arrange large buys, ... I'm sure my earlier reply didn't affect this in any way, it is just pointing out the obvious: a guy that hides what he's planning to do.

Now that your collateral is gone I think the best to do is delete this thread and create another account.
