Japanese financial services provider Monex is reportedly interested in acquiring the Tokyo-based Coincheck exchange which suffered a major hack early this year.
According to Nikkei Sources, Monex has proposed to acquire a majority stake in the Coincheck cryptocurrency exchange as part of a “billion yen” agreement.
As part of this agreement, Monex will replace the management team and rebuild the Coincheck platform, Nikkei adds.
