Giving away half of your merits does not effect your rank!!!!

I just wanted to let the younger members know that you can give out half of your merit and it wont effect your visible merits or your rank just to clear the air i only have 10 but ive gave out 2 so far, searching the forum now for some helpful information, going to reward someone who has been contributing helpful information for the noobs!!! Just wanted to let everyone know, at first i was afraid it would drop me back to jr. Member but after some research i realized i still shows the same amount whether you give out any or not, so in other words give out some merit to those here are helpful here, there's no since in hodling merits!!!! If more people start giving for useful information, more people will start recieving

Yeah... This happens because there is:

Merit - merits you received;
sMerit - what you send to people to merit their post;

Every merit you receive also gives you 0.5 sMerit (2 merits received = 1 sMerit). You are not giving him any of your merit.

You would know if you read the main thread about merit. It's not hard.
