Maybe if you hacked the worlds biggest supercomputer and used that.

There $1000 bounty would cover nowhere near the power needed to run and maintain the computer xD
Maybe some super efficient computer with 10 PHz running on 1 W of power  Tongue

The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

IMO better off guessing the hashes than actually trying to work out the algorithm lol.  Don't have too good of a chance to crack SHA-256 even with the fastest group of supercomputers anyways.

I can try this if you like, send me any unsalted hashes and I'll give it a try.

I think it's really not possible unless you have big CPU power
It has a chance of working if it was generated with a phrase.

crack my sha256 hash, reward of up to $1000 USD

I would prefer to leave it at 1 BTC, but definitely up to $1000 USD

I can't find anyone to do it for me

PM me the hash.  I wont waste compute time but I have a list of hashes generated from common dictionary words and phrases that I can see if there is a match.

This to me is further proof that the sha256 used in Bitcoin is bulletproof or it could have been cracked and the OP did not report back, due to criminal intent. Out of curiosity, did any of the members attempt this or did the OP not respond to your request for more information?
There was a guy on reddit who posted his BIP38 paper wallet {Address & Private Key} and challenged people to Bruteforce it, and I wonder how successful that was?

In his countless other threads OP indicated it is 10 digits random (A-Z,a-z,0-9).
So 10 digits @ 64 values per digit  64^10 = 83,929,936,5868,340,224 combinations
7970 is ~ 1 billion SHA-256 attempts using hashcat.

83,929,936,5868,340,224 / 1,000,000,000 / 60 / 60 / 24 / 365 = 26 GPU years.  50% chance in half that so 13 GPU years.   Someone with a 13 GPU farm running 24/7/365 for an entire year would have a 50% chance of cracking it.

$1,000 is a joke.

I can do that, but 1000$ prize can not cover electricity expenses for
cracking your hash. Sorry.

This is a old thread that got bumped.  OP has not logged in since:
Last Active:    January 27, 2015, 08:12:58 PM

We all know it is very hard and not going to happen without significant cost.  But even if you were able to do it OP has not logged in for anyone to get hash from him.

This thread should be allowed to sink to the depths of the forum Smiley
