I have two laptops with BTC QT Wallet.

They were both synced yesterday at the same time.

Today I turned on to sync and one says 40 hours behind and the other 14 hours behind.

Why the difference?
If you see garbage posts (off-topic, trolling, spam, no point, etc.), use the "report to moderator" links. All reports are investigated, though you will rarely be contacted about your reports.
