Landrace is a blockchain based 3D digital collectable game built around scientifically plausible animal genetics. We aren’t trying to solve earth shattering problems. Our goal is to make a fun game. We are creating Landrace to push the envelope of what is possible in a digital collectables game. The first critter we will offer will be Chickens.
Basics:Why Chickens?The chicken has a prominent place in the history of animal genetic research. Reginald C. Punnett, the researcher the now famous “Punnett Square” is named after, used chickens in his research into genetic inheritance. The results of his research allowed him to create the first breed of auto-sexing chickens. (birds whose sex could be easily identified while still chicks) William Bateson, a long time collaborator and co-researcher of Punnett, also used chickens in his genetic research. It’s no exaggeration to say the advancement of the Mendelian model of inheritance owes a great debt to the humble Gallus Gallus Domesticus!
Plus, we just think chickens are cool.
Unlike the bulk of existing digital collectable games, our collectables are 3D. We use a procedural system for reliably converting virtual genotypes into virtual phenotypes. While procedural game asset generation is not a completely new concept, to our knowledge this is the first time such a system has been applied to a blockchain based game on 3D critters. The first 1000 Chickens after the Genesis Chicken are known as “Founder Chickens”. They will have an enhanced fertility rate to allow them to produce the Gen 1 Chickens required by the Referral Contest after which they will return to the standard fertility rate.
The next 1000 Chickens after the Founder Chickens will be available for the top scoring participants in the referral contest to claim.
Referral Contest/PromotionLandrace is still pre-release. The Referral Contest is simple, you get codes for Landrace CryptoChickens for driving signups to the pre-release interest list. The goal is to have enough pre-release sign ups that we can have a good launch with plenty of testers when the game is ready. As an early adopter, you will be able to experience most aspects of the game play at very little cost. By being on the interest list you will get announcements for other promotions we may do. One Sign up (your own email address) entitles you to one Gen 1 chicken, which you can get by breeding your choice of two of the Founder Chickens.
Each valid referral you provide will entitle you to another Gen 1 Chicken.
For each 100 valid referrals you provide, you will be able to choose a single Gen 0 Chicken.
There is a limit of 1000 Gen 0 chickens available for the Referral Contest but no limit on how many referrals a single participant can do or how many Gen 1 chickens they can claim as a result. However, due to the limited number of Gen 0 chickens available for rewards, only the participants at the top of the leaderboard will get Gen 0 chickens if they manage to reach that tier!
The higher your name on the Leaderboard, the earlier your will get your codes. That means top participants get their pick of the litter for breeding, and if they have earned any Gen 0 Chickens, first pick of Gen 0 chickens.
Breeding and claiming the chickens will be free but you will still need to pay for gas to run the smart contracts for breeding or to transfer them to yourself.
We anticipate you will be able to claim your chicken rewards starting Q4 2018.

How to Participate:Participation is super simple and low friction. We don’t ask for any personal info or even an ethereum address, just your email address. This will generate a unique referral link for you which you may use to refer friends and gain rewards.
