I don't own any Monero but it is generally well-regarded in the cryptocurrency community for its anonymity features. Monero also has a strong community and excellent developers.

Yes. You can actually take a look at coinmarketcap.com yourself. It ranked 11 in terms of market cap but there are other coins more popular than it. You might want to consider those in the top 10. Despite of its excellent performance in terms of privacy among other coins, there are still some issues regarding it. Yes Monero is one of the most popular cryptocurrency. Have a look on coinmarketcap and you'll see it ranks at the 11th position. It means it has a high marketcap and it is for a reason. The team is serious and they are doing quite a lot of development.

Yeah, Monero is indeed one of the popular coins right now. Besides the fact that its in the top 11 in coinmarketcap, they also have recently made a move against the asic miner of bitmain. Changing its algorithm for the asic's move to make it mine-able with their hardware. LOL
