"To all friends in cryptocurrency community:

Hello, everyone! I'm PZ, an early Bitcoin evangelist and blockchain eco builder. Most of you know me because of my efforts and adherence to the ecological development of blockchain industry. In the past few years, I saw Bitcoin community and Litecoin community both fell apart for long time due to different ideas , and the development of main chains was unable to move forward. So I organized Litecoin International Round Table Forum and Bitcoin International Round Table Forum in 2017. The two meetings were very successful. The upgrade of Litecoin and Bitcoin also went on successfully.

Recently, our team noticed that XMR (Monero), the world’s largest anonymous currency, is about to change the PoW algorithm, and plans to further change it twice within 1 year. As we all know, the reason for this algorithm change is that many companies (BITMAIN, PinIdea, etc.) have developed specialized mining machines for Monero.

Actually, the emergence of specialized mining machine for a cryptocurrency is normal market economy phenomenon. In the 10 years since the cryptocurrency community was born, we have seen the birth of specialized mining machine for Bitcoin. Then there emerged Litecoin, which was expected to be against specialized ASIC mining machines, using script algorithm which was considered to be"against ASIC" at that time. While after only two years, there appeared specialized mining machine for Litecoin. We considered about whether to change algorithm to be against specialized ASIC mining machines or not. However, after prudent and serious discussion, we believe that for any kind of valuable algorithm, the emergence of mining machine is only a matter of time. Finally, we made our choice to accept the existence of professional mining machines. Now more and more high-value currencies (algorithms) have respondent specialized ASIC mining machines, which has become a common phenomenon in the industry.

Is the existence of specialized mining machines completely useless? Obviously, this argument is unfair. The emergence of specialized mining machines will indeed accelerate the rise of problems such as centralization of computational power. But we should be reminded the fact that emergence of professional mining machines will also greatly improve network security. If there are professional mining machines, the events like “Monero was attacked by more than 500,000 botnets” could be avoided.

We understand that Monero team expects to stick to the expectations and work of Monero's “against ASIC mining machine”. For a long time, due to the excellent work of Monero team, XMR and its community have achieved great development, providing much valuable contributions to the entire cryptocurrency community. In the community, many people agree with this hardfork of changing algorithms. However, I feel that there is still a part of people who want to maintain the original algorithm and accept the existence of mining machines. They should be heard and respected.

We believe that the two ideas of "embrace ASIC mining machines" and "against ASIC mining machines" both have their own strengths and weakness. At present, the vigorous development of the global cryptocurrency ecology is precisely due to the emergence of various ideas of different people. The collision of different ideas has brought out the flourishing of various digital currencies. We always believe that the ecological diversity of cryptocurrency community is much conducive to the birth of a more secure, stable, prosperous and beautiful encrypted world. We can, and should, allow these minority of people, who are adhering to a different idea, be given equal opportunities with the majority, and the free market will make its own choices.

Therefore, we believe that these two thoughts should be given equal opportunities for development. We will make our best efforts to maintain the Monero system before this algorithm change, thereby preserving the fire that gives the ecology more potential for development. At the same time, we also invite developers, mining machine manufacturers, trading platforms, miners, wallets, and others in this ecological chain to join us, so that the network ecology can gain more possibilities!"

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Announcement of this Monero Hardfork on April 6th

1. To prevent ASICs, Monero development team intend to initiate this hardfork by changing CryptoNight algorithm, and plan to implement hardfork at block height 1546,000. MoneroClassic keeps the original chain, does not change CryptoNight algorithm, and remains ASIC-friendly.

2. After Monero hardfork at block height 1546000, there will be MoneroClassic (original chain) and Monero (the new chain) chains. The base code version of Monero Classic is v0.11.1.0, and that of new Monero is latest v0.12.0.0. For this hardfork, Monero development team has not announced plan to prevent replay attacks on the new fork chain, so both chains (XMC and XMR) are at risk of replay attacks.

the fork will be 1:1 ratio I suppose, but how & where will we claim the forked coins?
any news from exchanges supporting the fork?

If you don't believe it or don't get it, I don't have the time to try to convince you, sorry.

FAQs:

1. Is MoneroClassic (XMC) a hard fork from Monero?
No. Monero hard forked from itself when updating from v.0.11.1.0 to version v.0.12.0.0. We are working with Monero Network version v.0.11.1.0.

2. Why are you against the hard fork?
We believe the emergence of specialized mining machines for a cryptocurrency is a normal market economy phenomenon and it could greatly improve network security. With specialized mining machines , the events like “Monero was attacked by more than 500,000 botnets” could be avoided.

3. Is MoneroClassic (XMC) pre-mined?
No.

4. Is this an ICO?
No.

5. How do I get MoneroClassic (XMC)
If you have Monero, you will already have the equivalent amount of MoneroClassic (XMC).

6. Do you have replay protection?
No. It is the responsibility of cryptocurrency that is hard forking to implement replay protection. Monero team has not announced plan to prevent replay attacks on the new fork chain, so boths chains (XMC and XMR) are at risk of replay attacks. To avoid replay attacks, users should simultaneously transfer their balances to new wallets on Monero and MoneroClassic.

7.When and where can we trade XMC?
Supported exchanges: CoinEx, Xstar, gate.io. For the time open for trade, please pay attention the notice of exchanges.

8.Is the wallet available?
The wallet will be available on LoMoStar.

Something you may know about PZ:
The Secretary General of Litecoin Roundtable. PZ organized the Litecoin Global Roundtable Meeting. With regard to disputes over the activation of SegWit in Litecoin, PZ actively coordinated all parties, united the development team, several large Litecoin mining pools and exchanges, finally reached agreement at Litecoin Global Roundtable Meeting, and agreed to implement SW soft fork to avoid the falling apart of the Litecoin community. Founder if Litecoin -- Charlie Lee also made announcement on Twitter, thanking PZ for his efforts for Litecoin community.

I just noticed this coin at the newly added coins on coinmarketcap. People are tired and fed up of all the Bitcoin forks now we have gone to Monero forking? First I saw Monero Original and now Monero Classic? All the features you mentioned as the reason of creating this fork has already been incorporated in most of the active 1584 existing and active coins in supply. There is no visible team backing the project, little or no information to be able to access the abilities and skill set of the development team. This one is big no for me. I don't see any viable reason why this coin should exist

take your asic shit and stick it deep into your ass...hope nobody will support this shit

I also share this opinion, BUT: less insults and more constructive critism may be appropriate.
All of this Bitcoin x, Litecoin x, Ethereum x, [Insert well-known currency] x, while [x=cash, lite etc,...] just try to use the forked coin's reputation to mislead people into thinking the project is associated with the original project and in the end it's just an exact copy of the original without any innovative changes. What will be next? Bitcoin Cash Lite? Bitcoin Cash Lite Cash? Forkception is near.

Regards,
Nestade

Well, nice try. But there Website is 1 page and this one is totally scam..... but some guys are buying it, I just saw $7,= , so enought fools who believe a 1 page website
