Is there any Bitcoin/crypto wallet for Windows Phone user? I don't have android or Apple. Like me a lot of people use only Windows phone. So, I think if we have any option to use a mobile wallet.

Thankyou.

While looking just realised Bitcoin.org has a recommended wallet section: https://bitcoin.org/en/wallets/mobile/windowsphone/

Only Coin.Space is listed there though and the devs stopped supporting it since July last year, so that's not an option for you.

Check out the Microsoft store why don't you? I see at least three recognisable ones there. Bitpay, Copay... but I doubt any of them have the functionality or control you'd want. Can't vouch for how good any of them are, but BitPay has its fair share of users, but you should familiarise yourself first with the way BitPay works.

Might I suggest just using a browser to access a good, working wallet, where only you have private keys? Like say... counterparty?

Copay seems your best choice, it's not a cloud wallet and it's open-source. There are not much more alternatives, so I hope it suits your needs.

Copay is a great choice! However there are alot better wallets, but Windows Phone is pretty much abandoned platform. Although depending on the phone if you are lucky, you might be able to flash a custom ROM on Windows Phone.

But "hodl2018", if you ever get tired of your unsupported OS, let me know and i will help you with flashing android on your phone (if such ROM's are available). Microsoft as as a company which seeks profit, will fuck over a customer if it benefits them.

Unfortunately there are way to less mobile apps for windows or iOS.
It is possible to run android apps on a windows phone. But this requires to connect the phone with your PC in debugging mode
and access/modify the firmware. Then you could simply copy an android .apk onto your phone and install it.

However, this is not recommended since messing with the firmware of your phone might cause some damage when not being careful.

I found a site with Android OS for windows phone, but looks like there are many known issues.

List of possible issues with android os in windows phone.
Quote
  • No RIL (no cellular networks at all)
  • WiFi does not workFixed in build 20170905
  • Bluetooth does not workFixed in build 20170905
  • Accelerometer does not work
  • There's no sound over headphone jack
  • Only official digitizer is supported
  • Camera does not work
  • For some people SD cards don't work

Anyway, I think it's not a good idea to change the OS of any windows phone. The only thing that I could suggest is to use any trusted online wallets like coinbase. This wallet as of now is still fine, but the problem you can't backup the private keys.

If you really want to save your bitcoin safety you must buy a laptop or cheap PC just to save your bitcoin locally.

If you need to install android OS on windows phone, you might as well buy a real one...
The demand for windows phone are simply not enough to justify a local bitcoin wallet for it.
Either buy cheap android phone and use it solely for wallet or just wait until Electrum arrives on Windows Phone Tongue

(Although I must admit windows phone has a slick UI, too bad it flopped)

Exactly, I agree. No point in installing an emulator as it will have serious bugs and the performance will never be like a native hardware-optimized original Android system.

Windows phone unfortunately has been a huge fiasco ever since it was invented, that is why you find it hard to find a wallet for WP.

See if this link helps you, it seems to be a compromise:

I have a friend who follow the instructions in this video and managed to download Android apps( apk files ) on his Windows Phone https://youtu.be/ikv3kMjcHMg.
Personally, I do not like this method, especially if your phone is old (the risks you are going to have).
If you insist on using your phone, you can try these solutions:
  • Download coinspace. remember this wallet is Centralized validation
  • Use online wallet: You can use any wallet of your web browser like blockchain.info

I don't think you need any sort of upgrade or flashing before you can download or get a compatible for wallet for windows phone. Try this wallet coin space and bitpay.
Merit me if you find it helpful.

Well this is not what i'd call a meritable post at all. You "don't need" any kind of other OS, but think about it like as being like Windows XP. Of course there are apps for it, but it does not mean that it is supported and should be used really. All of the Windows Phone apps that i have tried, have been really buggy and i would not trust them (or the OS for that matter) with any kind of funds.
Also the Coinspace which you suggested, is a new application and probably have not got their source code audited.

So Copay and Bitpay are the best bets for wallets, if OP wishes to continue on the OS which he has currently. Copay has 2 Out of 5 stars, while Bitpay 3 out of 5, so it is obviously sure that this is a VERY bad idea, at least if they are used you should verify the backup of the seed.

If you read closely on his post and this topic you will find that :
1. He needs Windows Phone Wallet, and your link does not have any Windows Phone Wallet in it.
2. His questions has been answered multiple times above.
3. You just bumped old topic, OP most likely isn't active anymore.
