FGC Team Meeting: 4/26/2019

The team discussed the two main use cases, FGC Arena and Draft Daily.
First topic, FGC Arena:
-    Review status of final items for International payments and other API development required before the next BETA test
-    Discuss marketing efforts necessary to make a successful BETA test
o    Team decided that a USD pool would need to be created to get big names from the esports community,
o    A need for paid advertising on FB prior to the event; and
o    A request for the community to furnish donations for the USD prize pool and for the necessary marketing efforts
-    Proposed and discussed future vision to bridge the gap between the esports community and blockchain/cryptocurrency.  More details will be made available but the team is working through the solution in their meeting on 5/1/2019
Second topic, Draft Daily:
-    Team is working through solutions to get valuable sports data to avoid using costly data providers
-    Draft Daily 2.0 project is on track for late Summer release
Overall the team is active and development efforts continue in line with the published roadmaps.  There are additional items that are underway and as plans are finalized details of those items will be released.

I will try to clear up the details of the new chain as much as possible.
FGCv2 core code is based on Bitcoin using the UTXO model, it is NOT itself an ERC20 token, however there is a submodule called cpp-ethereum that allows FGC to support ERC20 tokens which I have renamed FGC20 for the FGC chain.
What does this mean exactly and how will it help FGC?
a.    Smart Contracts, ERC20 and ERC721 tokens can be deployed on the FGC chain, this includes anything from simple tokens, ICO’s, crowd sales and DApps. Existing smart contracts and DApps can be deployed of the FGC chain. This opens up our eco system 1000-fold.
b.    This opens up the possibility that DraftDaily and FGCArena could 1 day be DApps.
c.    Gas is paid in FGC.
How will this help DraftDaily and FGCArena?
a.    The dev team will create a token to be used on those sites, this token will be sold at a set $1 price and can be bought with FGC or Skrill. Players can later cash out at the same $1 value, minus any fees of course. If a player bought tokens in FGC they can cash out in FGC, if they bought with Skrill they can cash out via Skrill.
b.    This solves volatility issues for players.
c.    Since these tokens will not be on any P2P exchange which removes the financial benefit to hackers. If any of the sites get hacked, they will only get tokens they can’t sell.
d.    Still allows us to public display user balances and prize pools without the risks involved.

Will people be able to buy this token with BTC or other crypto?
a.    Yes and No. On site purchases will only be done in FGC or Skrill. Fees will be applied to both purchases and withdraws. However, players with BTC or ETH will be able to buy FGC and then convert that to tokens for game play. The exact mechanics are being discussed by the team.
Why not keep masternodes?
a.    They are not really befitting the over all businesses model as we hoped, the idea was that a Fantasy player or Gamer could buy a masternode or two and then use the rewards to play, essentially allowing them to play for free with only 1 small investment. That never happened in fact most masternode owners don’t have an account on any of our sites and mainly just used to sell rewards only benefiting the individual and not the project as a whole, this causes a lot of price volatility which player don’t like. No one in their right mind wants to enter a contest knowing that even if they win, they could even lose money because of people dumping. No players = no eco system being used = just another shitcoin and I for one did not come here to make shitcoins.
b.    MN + Smart Contracts = more development time, more maintenance costs

Will there be a reduction in block rewards?
a.    Yes, there will be a major reduction in the block reward. The current reward is 14.8711, expect the block reward to be 4 FGC or lower and then half every X number of years.
b.    The exact block reward has not yet been decided we are looking for a good balance that will be attractive to holders but not so high that everyone is selling their rewards everyday continuing to put downward pressure on the market. This will not keep people from selling or those who do want to sell can’t keep selling at the same rate forever.

Just a quick update on today's team meeting, some members presented proposals on the new chain structure and reasons why they feel it would be best for the project, now we will take bullet points from each and vote on those changes within the next 24 hours, at that time I will make an announcement post with the final numbers including swap ratio and total max supply among other things. So unless there are any added suggestions we should be ready to make this announcement shortly after so expect an official post in 24 to 36 hours from now.

NEW FGCv2 SWAP👇🏻👇🏻


NEW FGCv2 SPECS:

1) Final Swap Ratio: 1:10 bringing the new max supply to 210,000,000 FGC, this means that if you are holding 100,000 FGC you will get 1,000,000 new FGC.
 
2) Creation of DevFund:  An additional block of 16 million new FGC will be created. This fund will be used to support further development of the project such as new sites, exchanges, partner projects and marketing. Also it will guarantee our operational costs for the foreseeable future.
 
a) Breakdown: See section 3
 
b) Reason:  Since the swap to FGC as a Masternode coin, many of the holders have been selling/dumping rewards. This has caused harm to the project and its ability to find stable partnerships and fund operations. During this time core dev team members and founders have been funding operational costs out of pocket and worked for free without pay for 5+ months, which is no longer sustainable. Also, lack of funding makes us unable to hire outside expertise that we will need before and during the relaunch of FGCarena and DraftDaily, like for instance a marketing specialist. To remedy this and return the project to a healthy situation, there needs to be a devfund from which we can pay our current and future commitments.
 
3) Block Reward and Dev Fee:  The new block reward will be 5 FGC, with 1 FGC per block dev fee going towards the dev fund. The block reward will half every 4 years. This still gives individual holders an estimated 7% annual ROI.
 
a) Breakdown: The Dev Fund will fund Operating Costs, Marketing, Bounties and the Dev Team.
                     
b) Reason:  It has become very clear that in order to fund a real-world project with a real-world use case, continued funding is required for projects like ours that did not go through a multimillion-dollar ICO. These projects generally fail unless they are immediately profitable. This is especially true in crypto when a project’s value is directly tied to the volatile price of bitcoin and more so now that there is a futures market that allows traders to short bitcoin without actually holding bitcoin. Please check the CME & CBOE US futures markets and contract specs if you were unaware of this fact. When and if the real-world use cases we have made such as DraftDaily and FGCArena become profitable we will re-examine how the Dev Fund is spent through real decentralized voting DApps.

4) Swap bonus: The team is reserving a certain amount of new FGC to award early adapters. This will come out of the newly created devfund to reward our most active and loyal community members. Stay tuned for more details!
 
5) FGC Holders on Cryptopia: Un-swapped coins from holders stuck on Cryptopia will be held by the team. If the liquidators make good on their word to give back the coins to those users they will still be able to swap even if that’s a month or year away. In the meantime those coins will be staked and staking rewards will be added to the Dev Fund. There will be required proof that those coins where actually stuck on Cryptopia, instructions will be given AFTER the swap has occurred to prevent the liquidators from swapping and dumping to pay Cryptopia creditors.
 
a) Reason: The community voted on and helped pay for the listing of FGC on Cryptopia and therefore we will not leave you behind due to an exchange’s poor security and or bad practices. In the event there’s 100% confirmation that those coins are lost forever for whatever reason all we can say is we did our absolute best to protect our holders. At that time a community vote can be held to decide what to do with those coins. They could be used to further the project or even burned, we will cross that bridge when or if we come to it.

Q1) When will the swap start and end?
A1) We have contacted CoinExchange.io and waiting for their reply, the ball is in their court now. We are already in contact with new exchanges that may help in this matter. If we don’t get a reply in a reasonable amount of time, we will have other options available on other exchanges.

Q2) What if I missed the swap?
A2) We are trying our best to give everyone ample time to digest this and get ready for the swap. However we are certain there will be a few people who try and take advantage of this.
