Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Difficulty did go up by over 100M, to nearly 511M. That's a 30% rise, which is lower than has occurred in the immediate past.

I guess we should count ourselves lucky that the big miners waited until after the diff change, to plug in?

Hopefully a lot of folks will just give up, which will keep diff steady, or lower it.

I'm back to 1BTC a month again, as I was with my GPUs about 6 months ago. Roll Eyes

This diff is killing me :/ have sold most of my BTC mining equipment, but im still mining litcoin

Haha, mine Litecoin while you can, they are coming out with FPGA and ASIC for litecoin already

yeah i know it sucks .... but hope that they will be like BFL and deliver late so that i can earn more LTC !!
