Hello all!
I am a freshman Electrical Engineering Student at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. One of my friends who is a Software Engineering Student was talking about bitcoin mining and that got me quite intrigued as to what all goes into it. I understand the basic concept and the different methods, but am unsure of the specifics. However, during my research I discovered that FPGA's are commonly used. This is good I thought, because I have 3 FPGA's on hand that I got for free, but haven't done anything with. They are the: DE0-Nano, BeMicro SDK, and Xilinx Spartan-3E FPGA Sample Pack. I could only find info on using the DE0-Nano for mining and it involved a RaspberryPi for coordination. Which is not a problem because I have one. I want to do this casually and on the cheap, so minimal purchase of other parts.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Well, people are starting to develop FPGA and ASIC for scrypt mining, if you are trying to make big money you might wanna consider that direction...
