MyEtherWallet is a free, open-source, client-side interface. INSTALL EAL or MetaMask or Cryptonite to protect your wallet, anti virus, dont just browse and download unknown content its can making your pc enter the virus, and scan your pc every time you need

Never enter your wallet details otherthan the official MEW site, because most of them are entering into the close site where they entered all the details so the hackers will copy the original details and will steal all your funds.

The amount of money or ETH you lost by using MyEther wallet may have been enough for you to buy hardware wallet. If we are talking about money, you have to take security seriously. Invest on hardware wallet. Just like storing money in your house, you buy a vault if the money is huge enough to be a target for robbers same with Cryptos, if its big enough for hackers, invest in hardware wallets.

You spoke my mind. Investing in a hardware wallet is the best answer to the question posted by op in my opinion. Hardware wallets like Trezor are highly recommended in this case since I have been using one for a long time and have never faced any sort of problems with it whatsoever. Other options like paper wallets and online wallets like Myetherwallet are also recommended in this case, but are obviously less secure than a hardware wallet which is why I feel that purchasing a hardware wallet is best for securing large amounts of money. If you need to secure a small amount of money, any of the options that I suggested will work.

Invest on Hardware wallet like Nano ledger S or Trezor. If you have alot of Ethereum then keep it safe and don't ever give your private key to anyone coz they can access your wallet and it will be easier for them to hack ur coins. So pay attention everytime you enter your private key.

He doesn't really need a hardware wallet if OP knows how to protect his/her private key. There are ways to do so, and you don't need a hardware in doing so. As we know, there are lots of ways hackers can penetrate personal information of anyone as long as that person don't have a good security protocol..

You need to constantly and much read about information security in order to understand something. Asking for advice on the forum is inefficient

Once you loose or forgot without backing up your ether key on your MEW you cannot retrieve it. At first place when you create your ether address on myether wallet keep a copy and back up your ether key to secure your account..

I loose my Eth from my MyEther wallet anybody know how to protect it from hackers.

Few Tips:

MEW has been victim of the Phishing site. This site looks just similar to MEW and depending upon the sites where you visit, the emails that you receive all can get you this link and you must be able to differentiate in the original one and fake site.

Usually the original my ether wallet address turns green in the task bar and LLC certificate is shown. Always look for https:// which tells us that its safe link.

Try to log in with the Keystone file and do not try the Private Key. Keep it as secondary option to log in.

Bookmark the original MEW website address and always access the site from that bookmark.

This will be enough for you to get started with security.

most likely hacking occurs because your PC is not healthy, often phishing is the cause. so try to reinstall your PC then plug in with trusted internet security, be careful every time you fill out a form that includes the ethereum address sometimes carelessness becomes the culprit of theft in MEW like one entering the private key

The best way to secure MEW is by linking it to a hardware wallet. The most popular ones are the Ledger Nano S and the Trezor Wallet. When you store your private keys on a private wallet, it is impossible for anyone to access your funds unless they have your physical wallet with them.

The most important thing to keep in mind when buying a hardware wallet is to ONLY BUY FROM THE ORIGINAL RETAILER. Do not buy from random ebay/amazon sellers, as there was a scam with resellers copying down the private key and stealing your coins.

Here are the official stores to buy the ledger/trezor:
Ledger Nano S: https://www.ledgerwallet.com/products
Trezor Hardware Wallet: https://shop.trezor.io/

Once you have the wallet it is very easy to setup MEW on it. Here is a detailed guide on setting up MEW.

Bookmark the Myetherwallet site and only enter into your wallets from there and use the etherscan.io to keep track of your token balances and avoid unncessary login to your website and keep an separate system for crypto currency usage and keep it offline when it is not in use.

Clean your machine and create a new wallet or get a hardware wallet if you can, it's better to pay a little for more security in crypto. Also don't click random link on internet and telegram chat, always bookmark important website such as Myetherwallet and exchanges, open them from bookmark if you want to use it to prevent phising links. Install antivirus to prevent malware also a great idea.

Type a secure password you won’t forget into the box, and click “Create New Wallet”. You can then click “Download Keystore File” to save your wallet. I recommend you save it to a USB stick, preferably an encrypted USB stick, so that it isn’t hanging around on your computer where it could be easily found. The file will be called something like “UTC — 2017–08–11T15–29–26.452Z — 45…

The most important thing is to not get your private key stolen. So storing it in computer might be bad idea. What i have done is wrote private key in certain page of book. You can also divide private key into several parts and store them separately if you are afraid someone might steal it.Also you can encrypto your private key.

Keep your private key fully secured. When you unlock your wallet via Myetherwallet.com make sure that it has MYETHERWALLET [US] beside the link URL. Add Metamask to your google extension for additional security. This way you can transfer coins without unlocking your wallet using private key.

Very often scammers send personal messages in the official channels of a cryptoproject. I often receive such messages in chat rooms of different crypto projects. Please note that the account from which the letter was sent may deceive the inexperienced person, since it is very similar to the name of the project. Scammers like to "mask" in such a way as to create the impression that this is the account of the Project Team or one of their representatives. And this is another reason to remain vigilant.
