Can I be held legally responsible for buying a discounted gift cards online

Whether or not I can be held legally responsible for buying discounted gift cards online. Most times discounted gift cards exist because people trade them between themselves, but sometimes it turns out they are stolen, but as a buyer one can't really know. So, I'm looking for legal advice on that.
