10 PM's per hour?

That is something that should probably be rasied for the more senior and more active members.Ii've seen it before during a buisness discussion which is why i asked in the meta section about skype being on our profile pages in addtion to aim/msn/yim/icq

I would increase it for established members if SMF supported that. A relatively small number like 10 is necessary to prevent mass spam, though 10 is still too high for newbies.

Why not exchange e-mail addresses or IM handles if you chat that much :-)

i tried to organize deals with 3 different people and i maxed out without any way of responding...

please raise it a bit.

or make it like 10 every half hour.. i have people who think i'm scamming them because i'm locked and cant reply...

I hit this myself pretty quickly when I had three people pming at once.  The biggest problem with it was that it caught me
completely by surprise.     Now that I know about it,  I can pack more into each pm, or switch to IM  etc but the first time was a complete shock.  Mostly because I was replying to pms and every other spam limitations on pms I had hit before had always been a throttle on how many different people you could send a pm to.   Can there at least be put a message shown when sending a pm,  you have N pms left for this hour?

Theymos, have you considered upgrading to 2.0? It was released over a month ago. I don't know if the they support such a feature in the new one but they have a lot of nice improvements added and over 2 years in RC's (even longer in betas) it seems pretty exciting for them to have a final 2.0 out.

It would probably be a big project. I'd want to keep the same forum style that we have now, and several of the modifications and custom changes that have been added would break.

I would if someone would contribute that code. Though if you're going to contribute code, you might as well implement membergroup-based limits.
