I bought some bitcoins on MtGox.  My wallet software is running.  How long does it take for them to get from MtGox to my desktop?

Thanks.

Did you withdraw them from your account and send them to your wallet?

You just need to wait for the block chain to confirm. You can always check blockexplorer.com for the status.

Still around.

Did you tell MtGox to send them to an address on your client at home?  And did you give your client enough time to download the blockchain?

"The powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent meetings and conferences. The apex of the systems was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world's central banks which were themselves private corporations. Each central bank...sought to dominate its government by its ability to control Treasury loans, to manipulate foreign exchanges, to influence the level of economic activity in the country, and to influence cooperative politicians by subsequent economic rewards in the business world."

Check your receiving address in blockexplorer. You may already have them but just not know you have them.
http://blockexplorer.com/

If your client doesn't have at least 138,544 blocks, it isn't caught up to now.

That's it,  block explorer shows that I've received them, but my client only shows 135049 blocks.

Why is it taking so long?   it still shows 135049 blocks.

It still says 135049 blocks.  Do I have to shut it down and restart it?

Wouldn't hurt.
