The alternative coins in much faster transaction speed can be checked on here http://blocktivity.info/ number one is steem coin the social media coin and second is ethereum the smart contract and decentralize application on the blockchain, but there is new coin the developer said it can make millions transaction processing per second but it is still in the ICO fase, so i don't have any proof about it, the users who interisting about EOS can see on this https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1904415.0

Ive been researching for altcoin that has a higher functionality in terms of faster transaction speed.
i just want to mention that having a faster transaction speed doesn't mean the coin has a higher functionality also. a lot of altcoins have reduced the time between the blocks so they have faster confirmation speed and things are fine as long as nobody is using their coin but as soon as the usage grows they all fail. so you should also look for their performance under a heavy load not just under normal circumstances that nobody uses the coin and the number of transactions per day is pathetically low.

Ripple, eos, digibyte, litecoin, bitcoin cash, waves. Bitcoin is one of the worst in transaction speed now but I think transaction speed itself does not mean much for a coin, most coin have it.
