Russia is on its way to international isolation. If Russia turns off swift, even the legalization of cryptocurrencies will not help Russians. Cryptocurrency exchange will be even more problematic. I think that Russia will become a more closed country and repeat the fate of North Korea. In such circumstances, the legalization of cryptocurrencies is impossible.
I think, that, of course, it is not been with russians, but, of course, it is more simple going somewhere in country, which has legal cryptocurrency for buying some BTC Grin

It is very interesting position. I think so, too.
It seems to me that this news is directed only to the fact that Russian was not looking for opportunities to leave in the dark the Internet. Then from there do not get it. Putin will never allow Russians to use cryptocurrencies. This will weaken the ruble. Russia's economy may not stand it.

2018 will be the determining direction of the movement of crypto currency in Russia. The fact is that to date, the State Duma is considering draft laws, which will regulate this industry in the territory of Russia. From the form in which the laws will be adopted depends volume of investment in the crypto industry in the territory of this country.

In Russia, they do not like technology, only oil and gas. The ban on telegrams showed this again. Most likely, soon the crypto currency will begin to be regulated, or may even be banned.

Look at what's really happening in Russia. Only recently the social network of Telegrams is banned by the court decision because they refused to provide information services to the special services about the encrypted data of users of this network. What kind of implementation of crypto currency in Russia can we talk about? In this country, as long as authoritarian rule exists there, there will be no decentralized crypto currency. They will not allow citizens to anonymously dispose of their money, this country is not yet for decentralized crypto currency. There they can only start their fully centralized crypto currency or any step from decentralized to put in control. While we are waiting for the adoption of relevant laws in Russia.

I don't  know what  really the direction of Russia about crypto currency, as we know Russian government is an authoritarian but  according to reports crypto currency is still in used by their citizens like  a regular foreign currency were in the is an exchanger that  will by bitcoin into cash. Hopefully the law that  they will drafted wil have  a favorable conditions to bitcoin.

Yes Russia is on the way to adapt cryptocurrency in their country. It's really a good news because if one country accepts then other countries also consider about this change. In Russia they allow the people to change bitcoin into local fiat and use. Russia can legalize this bitcoin cryptocurrency to solve their economic problem. Always russia dont think about other countries what they told about their country.

yes it could be even mined bitcoin activity and digital currency in Russia has become a new trend. Mining miners are struggling to compete with major operations involving supercomputers, especially supercomputers from nuclear facilities. If this happens, it is likely that Russia will adopt Bitcoin.

the story with supercomputers from nuclear faciities wasn't the only one in Russia as far as I know. And cases like this often happen in another countries, US for example

Yes you are right. From what I know Russia is like other countries like Malaysia and Indonesia where they allow cryptocurrencies in their country but prohibits them to becomes means of payment. So indirectly using cryptocurrencies by converting is to their Fiat currency is a legal loophole. This is why the Russian legislative department are taking into action because they now want to properly regulate cryptocurrencies in their country. Adoption of the cryptocurrencies will soon follow as last time I check they are in favor of cryptocurrencies in their country.

with their style of doing things I wouldn't think that regulations will occur soon

It's indeed nothing new if we look at similar activities around the world, but it doesn't change anything from the fact that it is abuse and potentially theft of resources that don't belong to you. It wasn't all that long ago where a state department employee used financial resources of the state to buy GPU's with for mining purposes. This isn't only abuse of resources, but also theft, which is something we can't and shouldn't take lightly. I have read about various similar happenings in hospitals, universities, banks, etc. I know people want to exploit every possible opportunity that this market grants them, but there are lines that people shouldn't cross, especially in case of a hospital or bank or nuclear facility....

The large Russian population of 146 million people will potentially be the largest player and market and align with global Bitcoin players such as China, Europe and America. That is the main reason why Russia dare to adopt bitcoin.

Yes I think Russia is on its way to adopt cryptocurrencies and I believe Russia would be one of the first countries to use digital currencies around its country. That would be one giant step to the future for cryptocurrencies and great news in the crypto world.

Right. I don't think that they don't like technology, because they will be really left behind if they don't accept it. However, they refuses to acknowledge everything that will put to much freedom on its people like bitcoin and cypto in general. And just to please their people, they created a crypto back currency, but I haven't heard anything positive about it. Banning telegram is another sign that they won't allow their people to used it for crypto purposes. The ironic part though is that they are a lot of Russians who are really good in crypto, like devs and ICO projects and even Ethereum head, Vitalik is Russian.

Yes. Even more ironic is the fact that due to these uncertainties, the future Russian Bill Gates and Steven Jobs type of individuals, will all be doing their thing outside of Russia. It's a waste of precious talent having the ability to lift Russia to a higher level in every field, but the government there is stupid enough to let them apply their creativity and knowledge elsewhere. If nothing changes, and I'm not that confident in a fundamental change in the coming year or so, then the outflow of talent will become more of a problem than people gaining freedom or using crypto instead of the Ruble as currency. I think it's safe to say that the paranoid and somewhat ignorant nature of governments towards crypto, is more of a threat to their economy than crypto itself.

PS There are much more russian in telegram after blocked it)) They all use vpn for that)

I know that that the russian government are still discussing about legalizing crypto and it was reported that they want the technology behind it. They might just completing a regulation that will protect their people from ICOs or prevent illegal transactions.

Cryptocurrency adaptation in russia is into a higher and different level as of now. As I am going to evaluate more and more Initial coin offerings are appearing that is being founded by our russian developers, and most of them are trusted and legit. so we can say that the movement of founding cryptocurrency in russia is quite good enough to let other neighboring countries trust crypto. Russia is not just on the way but they have been in the way when china was dropping it's GDP, even south korea and many fraudulent news popping out but still russia was with japan simply going through discovering things what crypto can do in a certain country. less, jobless individuals as i evaluate.
