actually I also want to approve your plan, but merit can not be said to be legally exchange, merit only given to those who make / post about something useful for forum

Merits are supposed to be earned and not exchanged, even though I am personally not very happy with the system (simply because I should have been a snr member now), I think it has brought order in the forum.

not possible to be legally exchanged?

hmmm, sounds interesting in a forum around a currency that cannot be legally exchanged in many countries of the world

sorry but i have to laugh at this, (not you and your post its just how the world is crazy)

Merit sales, transfers to aliases, back-and-forth trading, etc. are not much of an issue. All illegitimate merit will decay, and will account for a tiny and very expensive fraction of the total merit economy. It's basically a rounding error; fight it where convenient, but waste no sleep over it.
That is what theymos said on merit trading.
DT Members- they are not allowed to red tag those who are trading and exchanging their merit as what The Pharmacist said.
I would gladly tag merit abusers, but as I've said before it appears Theymos doesn't want that, and I have to respect his stance.  Also, these cases of abuse are much less clear to me than account sales or even campaign cheating.  There definitely can be users who really like what one particular person has to say, and I might tag such a person unnecessarily.  I don't feel like dealing with the backlash of that, nor do I really want to neg someone and be totally wrong.

This all will take care of itself eventually; I have some faith that this'll be true.  We're only in month 2 of the merit system, so it's still young.  It wasn't designed to stamp out shitposters immediately--it's a gradual, long-term thing I think.  We'll see in a year or two.

As far as I remember, There is a thread that every user can post the link to their constructive post that worthy to receive merit. I'm highly against exchanging merit because it can be use by Account farmers if ever this method will be legalized. Anyway I'm open to give merits in constructive post. Just email your constructive post link.

Email Address: blockeye@tbz1.com

PS: I will send merits once every two weeks. Sending your links to me will not guarantee that you will receive merits from me because I will thoroughly check each entry. Goodluck

since merit is impossible to get in this forum, even if you write good posts.

why dont we just exchange sell it to each other.

i have 22 merits i could give to someone if he then gives me 22 merits in return.

i doubt on the viability of this system.

regards

If you do this, it can result in negative trust or even ban in some cases. It will make your profile useless and thus it is not worth doing.

well you will have then secrtive trades, this forum actually isnt helping with merits, people are not honest here anyway i just made this proposal as this system isnt necessarily hepling newbies

merit system is broken,

it actually looks almost like a central bank to me, only those administrating this forum are giving merit away, and they are giving it mainly to those that help pushing bitcoin, and not altcoins etc-

it looks like a government with new central bank  Grin

regards
Thanks for this truthful comment. This Merit method is not working like it should in removing spam.

The fact is that the merit is increasingly difficult to find, the owner of smerit is more difficult to let other people. They only exchange and provide for another acc of them. I really admire people who only use smerit to help others. One of them is TMAN Smiley

Can you tell me about a central bank that gives you money, and then gives half of the amount that you spend to the recipient for him to spend.

The community gives most of the merits to other members as they see fit, it isn't the administrators. The admins give merits to trusted members to award to other members to keep the flow of merits. Where is the central control in that?

I think you misinterpreted what I wrote, which shouldn't be construed as giving people the freedom to openly post offers to trade merit like OP just did.  I tagged him accordingly.

Who I'm not tagging are people I come across who have seemingly traded merit, where there's a judgement call to be made as to whether that's what's going on or not.  OP's is a very clear case.  He wrote an offer to trade merit with other users, and that's a violation of the rules of the system, or at least the spirit.  Not a potential violation: an actual violation.

This Merit method is not working like it should in removing spam.
But it's working great as far as keeping the low-ranked shitposters from ranking up.  Yeah, maybe some of them have slipped through the cracks, but I'm seeing plenty of them stuck at Jr. Member when they normally would have ranked up already.  It's certainly succeeding in that respect.  The fact that these shitposters are too stupid to realize they're not going to rank up can't be blamed on the merit system.  Eventually they'll learn.

Being Sr.Memberom  to complain of the impossibility of obtaining merit? Huh and what then to do for example a Jr.member of which initially number 0? The first time I meet a similar post about the exchange from the person with the highest rank. Undecided

You utterly are wrong. As a matter of fact, if you write good posts, people will really reward you. But you should be active so your posts will be seen by others. Otherwise, no one will see them, thus no one would give you merit points. Added to that, you should not trade with merits because it is not allowed or else your account will get a negative trust. So, make good quality posts and then you will get merits.

I'm putting so many people on ignore these days.

If all you can do is to make low quality posts that aren't deserving of merit, why would a sig campaign manager want you associated with his programme?

Qouted for reference.

Its considered right now as an untrustworthy behavior. Selling/Trading merit will result you in red trust.
Anyway you are right but you can't stop him exchanging his merits that may result in negative trust instead he find a post that help other users in bitcoin earn it with their quality post. If i were i you i would give merit to those user that post helpful information to make bitcointalk best crypto forum there is.

Do you already get replies on your suggestions through PM? Smiley Is there anyone who will be glad to exchange with you 22 Merits?
It is not impossible at all to gain merits. To someone it is going fast and to other ones slow. It is out of my target to grow higher on the forum, so I could send to one of your posts a Merit or two, but I will not. Just do not like beggars like you are Tongue

Just like you received 8 merits for a post in a mega spam thread , where you typed some stuff in extremely broken english  Roll Eyes, Which you conveniently received a couple days after you merited the user who merited you, greeklogo's, for this post,

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2855783.msg30077370#msg30077370.

Hmmm. It sure goes fast when you trade it out with your friend huh? No way that anyone would ever merit that post with 8 merits unless he would know you.
