Hello,

I am mining (just for fun) with 5 erupters using the p2pool.info pool. My hash rate is around 1.6 Gh/s

I have 2 questions...

1) It says "Expected time to share: 134 hours". Is that a very high number or considered normal?

2) I read here that you can add a number next to your username. Should I aim for 5 shares per hour (So 170 x 1.6 = 272) and login to my pool with "bfgminer -o 127.0.0.1-9332 -u bituser/272 -p 12345"?

New to this so I am not sure what I should be doing.

Thanks
Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

The large "expected time to share" is a result of you having a very low hash rate compared to the rest of P2Pool. For example, a single Avalon ASIC takes about an hour to get a share, and your setup has a lot less hashing power than an Avalon.

So yes, that's a very high number, but it's expected for your setup. You could use p2pool, but you'd get a share about once a week, and a payout about once a week. (Variance would be very high.)

Tweaking parameters can't make it any better - you can only raise the difficulty above the normal level, not lower it.
