I wonder about this too and I couldn't find much information about it. What I did find though is two reports from year 2006 where it basically states that one episode of "Security Now" was downloaded 100 000 times (in one month).

How many people watch this show?

The twit network is enormous.

http://mixergy.com/twit-leo-laporte-geeks/

It is the largest podcast audience and the audience is the perfect one for bitcoin.

Steve Gibson is legendary within the security industry.

Actually spinrite would be great if you lose a hard drive and it has a wallet on it you need to recover....

He clearly did his homework, though I don't think he explained it a way most people will understand.

He mentioned blockexplorer.com! I'm famous!  Cheesy

Agreed.

One thing people should do when they explain bitcoin, is to compare a bitcoin address to a bank account number.  Because it has exactly the same purpose, basically.  Except that this account number has a mathematical key that you keep secret.

An  other thing is to explain that everything works a bit like in the conventionnal banking system, except that the person who plays the role of the bank changes every ten minutes or so.

Once you've explained that, I think you got the global framework of bitcoin.

Well, prepare for a rally on the markets.
Maybe after a 2-week delay while people figure out how to get money in to MtGox.

I don't keep detailed traffic stats, but I had 47,011 hits so far today compared to the normal ~15,000 hits per day.

I asked Steven Gibson for the video, but he just sent me the link to the Podcast, saying that I should/could edit out the non-Bitcoin parts.
Heres the http://aolradio.podcast.aol.com/sn/sn0287.mp3

Anybody feel like editing it?

I don't see this listed above so here is the official permanent link for this show:
http://twit.tv/sn287

And I don't see it yet, but fairly soon there will be a full transcript of the show posted here:
http://www.grc.com/securitynow.htm

The transcript is handy to create videos with captioning.
