I remember exchanges asking for list fees before but It's apparently no longer the case. If you check this article[1] by Business Insider, you will see how most of them are not taking any fees. This doesn't make it any easier to list the coin though as they still have some criteria for listing.

Kucoin (not mentioned in the article below) allow users to vote to list coins. If your coin have a big community and userbase, listing it on exchanges wouldn't be a problem.

I don't think this is true.
Asian exchanges ore openly asking for payment and they will create fake volume for you.

Tried to find the answers in the internet but failed to find some, here are just the information I get.

Listing coins to binance are not mentioned on their pages, but you can fill the form here (https://support.binance.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000822512-Listing-a-Coin-on-Binance-com) and read this statement of CZ

We don’t like big ICOs. If you do a big ICO, be prepare to pay a large % of coins as insurance deposit and listing fee.

And to poloniex, will not accept any means of payment, but I'm afraid if they still list any coins on their exchange, the last coin they listed was on Oct 27 based on their twitter handle - (Link). But still try to contact them.

We don't have a definitive set of criteria as each project is unique. We listen to the community and select projects that we believe are unique, innovative, and that our users would be interested in trading. We also look for products that have strong (organic) market demand.

Some takeaways:
We cannot list any token that resembles a security. We suggest token devs familiarize themselves with The Howey Test.

I don't see much ICO done by exchanges today unlike back on those days where bittrex were doing every time. $50K I think is a fair price after all they act as escrow during those times and they are also the first to list the coin. 3 years ago I think bittrex asks 3BTC to list a coin. ICOs done by exchange are must trusted than just sending the funds to the dev team wallet.

They definitely charge, publicly they say they don't but it's obvious they do. Binance is something crazy like 500eth +, the reason why exchanges fake their volume is so they can literally charge more for listing by claiming to have bigger volumes than they have.

Exchanges are the real kings of the crypto space.

It's honestly not about the costs, especially for Bitfinex, and Poloniex. They are going to only list your coin if they deem it to have some sort of merit, and actually has a lot of volume on other exchanges.

For Kucoin, the cost of getting a coin seems to be is $50k-1 million which is a lot.

Binance has a voting system. Not sure if you can privately settle without a voting system, and no idea how much they charge either.

C-cex again has a voting system, but apart from free votes you also can pay to vote. And based on this(https://c-cex.com/?id=vote) you would be looking at around 3-5 BTC to list your coin if you were to pay.

Basically either you have a lot of support for your project and you can win coin list voting, or be prepared to pay anything up to 50 BTC or even more to get your coins listed. HitBTC has some sort of shady 1 month listing, I recall it being a few BTC to get listed and you only get a month of trading before you get delisted: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2378223.0. The image is down, somehow. You could ask OP of that thread to give you accurate figures.

Yobit is the best value for price volume wise. 0.1 btc listing fee for an exchange ranked 37 in volume today in the world isn't bad. But a dog of an exchange to use!

Official Statement regarding TopBTC (1/3):

Over the past 3 weeks we have been in constant contact with TopBTC and their Support Team. First it was to negotiate a decreased listing fee, then it was to help APR officially get announced as a listing, then to confirm the launch day pairing of APR/BTC.
To be fully transparent, the negotiated list fee was 8 BTC + 8 BTC of coin collateral; whereas, their publicly posted rate was 20 BTC + 20 BTC worth of coin collateral. The agreed upon rate was paid in full by the team:

After launch day; however, unlike all of the other exchanges that APR has been listed on, TopBTC began having "issues" with user withdrawals and deposits. Just 2 days after listing, the APR Team received an email demanding we pay an additional 12,000 APR, or they will pause trading of APR on their platform. Here is the direct text from their email:

They then blamed the loss of 12,000 APR coins on an “Engineer” who works at TopBTC, but still demanded 12,000 APR Coins. This drastic shift in their story was truly cause for alarm.

However, over the course of the last 6 days, they have been adamant that they will not resume trading and have gone ahead and paused withdrawals completely.

Today a 15,000 APR sell order was fulfilled and bots populated buy orders shortly thereafter (screenshots will be uploaded in a read-only channel on Discord).



Official Statement regarding TopBTC (2/3):

We have sent them the following email today:
“Hi TopBTC Support Team,

We demand a full refund of our listing price of 8 BTC.
The team has received numerous messages outlining a 15,000 APR sell that occurred today that vastly dropped the price of APR. Please see the image below.
None of our community have been able to correctly deposit or withdraw their APR from your platform since APR has been listed.
You have held APR Coin hostage on your platform and demanded 12,000 APR as an extortion attempt.
You have falsified statements publicly on Telegram, and here is proof:
APR has been in constant contact with you since the end of May 2018. There is no current update occurring on the APR Wallet and there was no statement made to you regarding one. You publicly lied to your community and our users.
This is truly disheartening that you have chosen to lie to the public, hold their funds hostage and essentially create a damaging listing for APR Coin through your platform.
