I completed a listing and the buyer offered to pay me in bitcoin. I would rather that than be paid thru paypal (which I despise)

any advice? I am not a frequent ebay user, maybe there is some trick I am missing.

Do I cancel the order when I get paid and then ship it? or is there a way to still do it thru ebay?
I would imagine that basically takes the escrow out of the equation too right? I'll ship it when I get paid so that isn't a problem for me as long as the buyer trusts me.

Any thoughts on the matter would be appreciated, apologies if this has been discussed, I have never had much luck with the search function on here.

Accept the bitcoin, mark auction as paid, ship.

I'm guessing the auction has ended and your buyer was the high bidder? If so, wait till the BTC is in your wallet before you ship. I would avoid any escrow service as I'm sure the buyer would try to get you to use theirs (mostly likely a scam).

If the auction hasn't ended, then just end the listing and do the deal outside of ebay and still only ship once you have the funds (avoid any escrow, especially any one your buyer recommends).

I bought an item on ebay and noticed the seller had bitcoin related items.  I asked him if I could pay in BTC instead of paypal.  He said yes and I sent the BTC.  He sent the item as shown in the listing.

If he had failed to send me the item I would have no recourse through ebay other then a negative comment, though for a low to medium value item with a 99% seller rating you can feel quite safe.

So if I get paid in BTC and mark the item as "payment received" and ship it.....

Does ebay take a fee out of my paypal? I would assume they always get paid, unless I cancel and ship..... hmm.

This is where bitcoin shines.  No fees unlike paypal.
