I'm receiving an error that says my ip address has been banned from blockchain and this is making life very difficult to access my funds... have to tether my phone. What is going on?

The owner of this website (blockchain.info) has banned your IP address ().

Your IP has been banned from blockchain.info, a website. Websites are never a part of Bitcoin. Try using a proxy / VPN.

Yes but it's very frustrating to have to access my money like that... I haven't done anything out of the ordinary or that would be deserving of this.

You could try connecting to the site through Tor.

Alternatively, I'm pretty sure Blockchain.info defaults to sending backups to your e-mail on a regular basis. When it was down for a few days two weeks ago, I just loaded the backup into Multibit and called it a day.

Same thing happened to me yesterday! I deposited 500$ in coin, was using blockchain.info like normal and then randomly banned my IP! Now I have no way to access my account, or even retrieve my 500$ in coin! I've been reading through forums and it seems like support is going to take years to reply to my requests.

You're both using windows? An antivirus scan turn up any results?

MAC OSX

I don't think it has anything to do with viruses.
I can use blockchain 100% fine on clearnet browsers; but for whatever reason the TOR IP I was using was flagged to be banned while i was using it.

All I did to grant this was clicked on 'gyft' *OPEN IN NEW TAB*
While new tab was loading....

Ahh, tor, sry. You'll get that from a lot of sites with tor, there's only so many exit nodes and there's a lot of malicious stuff comes from them. You can blacklist the exit node you're having trouble with in the config but it will happen with others.

Yeah I assumed it had to be something like that...but now the problem lies in how I can't access my wallet with 500$ of coins in it!!!

Being I had to use a new IP, the auto-fill in identifier was gone, and I used a fake email address to create the wallet. So I can't retrieve my Identifier from conventional means.

Had to open a support ticket and tried to PM piuk but like i saw on other bitcoin wallet related problems / searches most people had to wait days or even months till they heard something back.

REALLY annoying
