CPU Mining "Rig" - What's Needed?

Starting to become more and more interested in CPU mining...

Say I wanted to set up some sort of mining rig with 10 or so CPU's, what would I need?  I'm not too tech savvy but I'm getting there and am always up for a challenge.

Thanks in advance.  If there are threads out there links are appreciated as well.

The max motherboard can hold is 2 CPU... I believe you will need special motherboard for more CPU....

Server grade motherboards can fit 4 cpus, like these

For more cpu I think you have to look at mainframe architectures

Well if he wanted GPU, the most motherboard can support is 8 GPU (or more if you use some splitter)... not 4

seriously, if you want to mine as hobby, maybe but if you are chasing the profit, GPU is not going to return anything, unless you are using the Office Computers or servers at work

Learn from folding.

Use GPUs. You want as many cores as possible. I have 5 custom built computers with a 4390K + 4x780s (professionally assembled). That's the most PPD you can get today. Each cranks out half million points per day folding. If your interested in something like that, PM me and I can send you some pics.

I'd be looking at Socket-G34 Opeterons.  You can get 12-core Magny-Cours chips on ebay for maybe $300 ea, and new dual-socket boards on newegg for maybe $400.

yep think you can even get 4 socket boards for the G34 range so youd have 48 cores all together. if your just mining and want to keep it basice then either a AM3+ Bulldozer or the newer intels

if its primecoin AMD are better for long stings (which pay better) or intel for shorter stings (font pay as much but you can do more)

I have 16.5 TH/s in Asic power right now , but I thought they weren't any good for the Alt Coins ? Atleast the ones with good profit ? Or am I mistaken.

--- The sunfires are all mine, just sitting there , part of an older HW cycle ( used as Industrial art in conference room right now ) I'd love to find something that might doable. I could bring them online at a Wind Farm as well where I have access to Excess power at cost

I have seen motherboard that can support 7 GPU, on a Z677-GD65 motherboard....

I'm also pretty interested in building some sort of CPU mining machine with ~50 cores. Does anyone know of a detailed guide or place to find information on this?

I think its funny how many of the first comments were like uh GPU* pls. Lol.
