There is so many topic talking about merit, how do i get merit, merit system is unfair, etc

Basically I like to read, but not good in write, it's hard for me to give a good answer to a topic, because many more experienced people, more expert people in this forum, of course their answers are better than me, so I am more often read without commenting, bad comments will only become junk, so very hard for me to get merit by making a good post

Maybe  my rank will never go up forever, so what?
I know rank is important for bounty hunter especially in sign camp, is that just the goal? Raise the rank to get more reward on sign camp bounty
Come on .. bounty is not just sign camp there are many others
As I mentioned above I am more often read without commenting on a topic
So the sign camp task that should make few post in one week is little hard for me

The point is I do not care wether I get merit or not, my rank is up or not, the important thing is i can learn something from this forum, at the end the knowledge that i get from here can be used to get money from trading or from other, increasing my knowledge is more important than getting merit or raising rank

There's also so many threads like this claiming I don't really care about merit but secretly they do and hope that they just get merit for saying they don't really care about it. If you don't care you don't need to say anything about it and just carry on as usual and that's why these threads are utterly redundant.

Please, if you want to share your thought about merit, just post in the thread made by Theymos, there are lot of people there and the thread made for merit general talks. It is annoying to see more thread/topic made about merit.

You won't learn anything if you are put on ignore, and I've just put you on ignore for starting this.

See? it is not only me who is annoyed by this kind of action. You are on somebody's ignore list and it decreases the chance for you to get merit, and i bet it is not only Jet Cash who are applying this rule.

I agree, but has this proven to be a viable strategy so far?  I've read a number of similar threads shouting "I don't care about merit, we must make a quality post and get knowledge to invest and help our family, blah blah blah", and I haven't seen much merit being given out for these posts.

I would also suggest that if OP's aim is really to just learn about crypto, there's absolutely no reason to be posting in threads about merit, much less creating superfluous ones like this.  It's all been said and done before, and I'm also going to put him on ignore just for starting this thread.

Maybe in time these people will learn.  Maybe.

Edit:  I do care about merit, but more about giving it out to people who deserve it.  I think it's an excellent response to the spamming problem, and I fully support it.  I am hoping I start seeing low-ranked members posting stuff that's interesting instead of inane crap like the above.

Virtue signaling brings not praise.

Let's not forget the number of people who jump into Reputation threads to do the same when there's an obvious unsubstantiated statement. Same thing with no collateral Lending threads.

They are all annoyed you mate because it is obvious that you are here making this thread just to earn a single merit then if they ignored you from the merit source, there is really no chance to have you even a single smerit.

Just giving you an advice mate, if you really don't care about merit then just forget it for a while. Making a post that giving or share an idea of the genuine post, do not reply post that over 20 pages reply. When I checked your profile post it seems you have more post on megathread then you should avoid on that section. Just continue posting a good quality post then maybe your post was spotted to the merit source then you'll never know you are already merited.

Edit:  I do care about merit, but more about giving it out to people who deserve it.  I think it's an excellent response to the spamming problem, and I fully support it.  I am hoping I start seeing low-ranked members posting stuff that's interesting instead of inane crap like the above.

We'll never truly see this die out completely, but I would think in a years time we'll only see a couple of people opening threads like this one. I don't think it's fair to assume that anyone who opens a topic about merit is looking to gain merits too. Sometimes change needs to happen and any suggestions to features of the forum are welcomed in my opinion. Although, it's obvious in most cases and this case isn't any different to the numerous other ones we've seen lately.

Mine invisible merit to this post  Grin
I am ready to bet that this thread, such a long one, was created just with the hope to get some merits, but this is not so actual anymore. I see such threads daily here and they are really annoying already. Dear complainers, hold your opinion about Merit at yourself, nobody actually care.

It is like you have said that you do not like the merit system and you won't use it. Clearly, if you do not like the concept, you are not pumped of fueled up to do good and quality posts. You ignoring the new system directly says you don't care about being constructive and informative. I agree with pharm, you won't learn anything, you are here for the reason of earning only. Maybe just try to find other forums for that.

I understand the OP for creating this thread, he only want to express his opinions about merit system, that he don't care for it and already feel contented for the knowledge he gain here in the forum. That's great because at least he's not like the one who complains a lot.

But all of you are right somehow, I think his post is not necessary anymore. It makes me wonder why OP will exert effort and time posting a merit-related post if in the first place he really don't care about it? Huh If he really don't care then he supposed to just continue his usual business and will not make this thread, right? I'm having a doubt about this, maybe sir hilariousetc was right that OP's statement is just a technique to gain merits (well, who am I to judge someone).

The topic is a non-sense one. About three months after the launching day of merit system, I don't see any demand to create a topic like this. It's likely naive effort to beg for merits.

Honestly, I believe that Theymos launched merit system as a carrot and stick approach to make the forum better.
- Rewards for constructive users who deserved.
- Punishments for abusive users who should be eliminated.

Here is my opinion regarding your opinion:

1) Fact that you create a new thread about merit system with nothing new to add tells about how much you do not care about merit system. Smiley

2) There is nothing wrong if someone is trying for merits to rank up and get more pay in signature campaign. But one should not break the forum rules for this. If someone is making a quality posts in order to get merits, forum is also benefited as post quality is improved.

I'm sure you really won't care about merit once you gave up on the dream of being a successful bot spammer of posts that netted you $10 per week in signature campaigns. Wink

But in all seriousness, I've been saying it time and time again. Just forget about merit. It's going to end up being something people get randomly, and not something people are owed. It's like getting a green 1UP mushroom in Mario... just not something that should be happening daily or even weekly.

There are major exceptions, of course, like if you post 100 posts per week, I'm pretty sure you'll get at least 5 merits, but man... that's tough.

But I think getting Merits for your post will show that you are indeed learning something from this forum. By other people agreeing with you some of them will give your merits as proof that they have points taken from what you have said. Remaining the same rank for months because you are not receiving merits from your post can only mean two things and that is your post is either low quality or no one is agreeing with what you have said, both of which will show that you haven't learn anything since you have joined the forum.

Having merit is really hard but merit is not just about ranking up, its also about the quality of your post.
Its ok not to aim for it but why not try to do your best just to have it so you can fully maximize the opportunities here in forum.
Bounty is a good thing but having some interaction with other users here is good also, try to help people here through your knowledge and for sure you will be rewarded by some merit.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY A 100% LIE/s.

If you don't care about ranking up and cares only about learning then you can use GOOGLE for that. No need to create an account and post such things like this that you don't even care about Merit. First of all if you really don't care about having Merits you wouldn't shout it to the public, it's just like you want some attention for this.

Indeed, OP merely trying to get free merits from seniors, repeating what they suggested to newbies. Drop from a signature campaign, learn as much as you can about bitcoin and give us a bigger share of signature bounties. Better to read Mastering Bitcoin by Andreas M.Antonopoulos rather than going through countless spam threads to find a pearl here.

Oh dear! 191 posts and the poster hasn't heard of merit. That must be another one for the ignore list.

Why is that all the people who profess to be disinterested in merits start threads about it, and they have campaign messages in their signatures?
