Or is btcguild.com close to 6 hours of no find and currently at 11,642,838 shares? That's 11 million ...

to the best of my knowledge the sheer majority of pool hoppers no longer use btcguild.
btcguild now has an approx 1 hour delay in stats making hopping more difficult then before.

deepbit has had 11+ million share block before.

kind of funny how a 27 AND a 42 second block in the same day does not raise many eyebrows but a 6+ hour one does?

i gasped at the 42 second block.. didnt know about the other.

I hop and have tried many hoppers and none that i know of hop btcguild. maybe multiclone but I dont know if they hop there or use it as a backup. if the latter.. then they are helping.

Not to get technical, but long rounds are not measured in terms of minutes/hours/days.

What you probably meant to say was that deepbit had a 16 million share round.  Wink

but pools could use different share difficulties.. level 1 and level 2 i ?think? they are called.
i think this causes less load on a pool if they decide to go with the higher difficulty level of share.

and since so many of us are guilty of knowing the general speed of pools and average time to solve
a block for larger pools... saying deepbit had a 3+ hour block solve time gives me all the info i need to know.

so in a way... giving the time is somewhat easier to understand.. especially if some pools do what i describe above.

just being an ass. can you tell?  :-P

No offense taken  Smiley

I do see you know what I'm referring to, and you are right people (I too) are guilty of knowing what the hash rate of a pool is and doing math off of that.

Though, I have seen a few people who did not realize that when people say "long round" they are talking about the number of shares and not the time duration of the round...

Either way, to your comment about difficulty 2 pools.... there are none to my knowledge. Though, unless they wanted to play games with the difficulty number, a difficulty 2 pool might be wise just to count every share twice... that way any of their reward calculations based of the network difficulty "just work".

To the subject at hand.... yikes! first a 11 million share round, then a 13 million share round.... and to believe the next difficulty is predicted to be 1.8 million  Shocked
