Starting today, crowd-buy the products you really want using crypto

Got bitcoins to spend? Starting today, http://www.peddler.com is accepting payment in the most popular forms: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and 12 other cryptocurrencies.
With products ranging from the hottest new Nikes to Samsung phones or Dyson vacuums, we want to give our crypto community a place to buy real products. But if you're looking for a deal on a sweet ride, you'll also be able to start buying cars!

Within the next month Peddler.com will be the first to offer crowd-buys on cars for crypto throughout the EU

Yep, with the power of crowd buying on our site, you'll now even be able to get significant savings on cars.
With our collective purchasing power, you’ll be able to get offer discounts of 20% to 50% off on products you want. You can even add them your self, simply join the Crypto crowd, and use links to upload popular products online: https://www.peddler.com/crowd/crypto-shoppers/HJeo4R15M

Why Peddler started accepting cryptocurrency:

“We realised we have a lot of customers who hold cryptocurrencies but have no place to spend them. So we expanded our crowd buying for crypto users. The crypto markets can drop if there's a lack of general purpose application. With Peddler.com, we see a real opportunity to provide real application. We plan on making Peddler.com the major platform where cryptocurrencies can purchase nearly any product you want, and at the lowest price."

Peddler.com is creating a global decentralized shopping ecosystem:

“AI enables us to cut out the middle men – big advertisers who are getting our data for nothing – and even start paying users for sharing the things that they want.  It's your data and you own it, so you should get paid for it.
Our ambition is to scale and become decentralised in order provide our AI and crowd buying capability to everyone everywhere -- even eventually cutting out Peddler.com itself.”

What are the benefits of using cryptocurrency on Peddler?

“You can use your cryptocurrency for products you want and harness the collective purchasing power of the rest of the crypto community and on Peddler to get the lowest prices. Using crypto will allow you to bypass the transaction fees imposed on credit card transactions, and we’ll lock in the fiat value of the product for a period of 15 min to mitigate the price fluctuations which can occur due to volatile crypto economy” This enables all of our merchant to accept Crypto currencies. We are working hard to increase this time to 30 mins.

Starting today, you can pay for products at the lowest prices with cryptocurrencies on a platform looking to continue to find ways to cut out the middlemen and pass these savings back to where they belong: your pocket.

We welcome the communities feedback, thats how we built Peddler with the help from communities. We are constantly looking to enhance our platform. And openly discuss feature considerations, and like to answer your questions (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3248701.new). If you want to know more about crypto payments on Peddler or our roadmap towards decentralising just drop us a message.

Great idea. However I'm a bit confused as to how this actually works.

I read the FAQ and it says the process starts by some "peddler" wanting to buy a specific item, and posts the offer up for people to participate. But the whole thing only works when the merchant actually accepts to provide a discount, right? How is that guaranteed, and who is contacting the merchant? Do they have to be actively monitoring your site, or do you reach out to them? Also, is there a limited range of merchants you can group buy from or can you submit any?

Thanks for starting to accept crypto. But you do need to earn your trust in this space, there are just so scammers out there that you'll find a lot of skeptics. Good luck, I'll definitely purchase something through your platform if the need ever arises.

Great idea. However I'm a bit confused as to how this actually works.

There was a discussion thread on Peddler a few days ago where the OP explained the service a little more clearly.

Hey there!

I work for Peddler and can emphatically tell you we are a legit marketplace. We use clever tech (Ai) to bundle consumer demand for the products consumers actually want. Every product uploaded on Peddler was put their by a community member, or one of our partner communties. We invite accredited merchants to put up deals to an entire crowd of customers who effectively work together to drive down the price across borders (through bulk purchases) - we do this at incredible speed. We protect our customers with a 1 strike policy on merchants. And have never had a complaint we cannot resolve. Ultimately its in our interest this works for everyone involved.

The thread was pretty informational (minus the signature spammers) - worth a look. AFAIK, individual merchants who have bulk stock also directly come to Peddler (they have an option for that on their home page).

@Timberland thanks for the questions!

Great idea. However I'm a bit confused as to how this actually works.

On Peddler you can post the product you want, it can be from any merchant out there. (although we do restrict a few product groups similar to other Marketplaces)

But the whole thing only works when the merchant actually accepts to provide a discount, right? How is that guaranteed, and who is contacting the merchant?

We work with big communities similar to the crypto community, to aggregate demand for the products they want. We do this through either using our AI to discover product demand in the community OR have community users post the products they want on Peddler - this can be anything from a kitchen appliance to the latest crypto mining gear.

How is that guaranteed, and who is contacting the merchant?

Peddler already has a large merchant pool in place throughout tons of product groups, however our AI also finds merchants who can sell the product and approaches them on mass. Merchants are keen to drive sales, without the cost of acquisition and we allow them to do this and in return they set pricing for doing a group transaction.
The buyers remain anonymous during the purchase but tend to come from similar interest groups or communities.

How is that guaranteed, and who is contacting the merchant?

The merchant can ultimately set the pricing, however we do provide good indicators of what price point would capture the crowd best. The merchant is contacted by the platform itself or even our team, depending on the product group.

Also, is there a limited range of merchants you can group buy from or can you submit any?

You can submit any product you like. But bear in mind we do monitor and limit certain product groups. More importantly if you have any ideas feel free to list them here! Our search engine is actively monitoring for products! And personally I always like hearing new ideas!

But you do need to earn your trust in this space, there are just so scammers out there that you'll find a lot of skeptics.

Absolutely. We believe trust is won by remaining transparent and working with the community. If we make a mistake we would be the first to rectify it and admit it. We ultimately want this to work for the crypto community. We are all big fans at Peddler and know that there are a lot of peeps trying to scam others in this relatively young market.

I would like to see Peddler facilitating the community for the products they really want to buy with crypto. We have done surprisingly well in our first week 1/2 of crypto - lots of interesting and some unexpected products being sold for crypto. And we have had some good takeaways, like the 15 minutes for a BTC transaction should be increased, however less so with the other currencies (ETH/LTC was used most). However even when the transaction was made outside of 15 minutes we do let it go through in most cases, unless (on rare occasion) the user has underpaid - and we send it straight back.

I hope that helps! And would love to hear what you would like to crowd buy? (we had some great suggestions on GPU's and mining gear).

Thanks!
