Yesterday evening I moved 20 bitcoins from my wallet in mtgox to my personal wallet. After doing it a first time, I clicked confirm transaction a second time. As it seemed it did not take it the first time. The result was that two transactions were made. Twice the amount of bitcoins were taken from my MtGox Wallet. But apparently only one went through.

The two transactions were made in a short time (about 1 minute).
Both were done toward the same recipient: 142fUrgXNJiKwhXWiN9gkR8zvTbucm2idA

The ID of the first transaction was:
63eddec307c6ab9bf285b6b33f506fe90069e5d297263ed55249580a8120fff7

And of the second was:
67d1c656a65dc4c29f20292f4abecdb45d5a492091a167a0643fd50723f61dbf

Both transactions were registered from my MtGox account lowering it of said amount (thus taking away the possibility to try again).
Well, the first appeared immediately in my wallet, And after a few minutes gathered the confirmations necessary, and is now happily sitting there. The second never appeared. It did however appear on Blockchain:
https://blockchain.info/tx/67d1c656a65dc4c29f20292f4abecdb45d5a492091a167a0643fd50723f61dbf

Where it is sitting in a queue from yesterday evening with a confirmation warning saying: "This transaction has a none standard input".

http://i.stack.imgur.com/Pbmri.png

So I would like to understand what is going on.

What shall I do to recover those bitcoins?
Is it possible to undo the transaction and try again?
Is there a time limit after which when a transaction is not processed is sent back to the previous owner?

Thanks,
Pietro

P.S. Note that making a search on the warning on google shows only one result: the code in github https://github.com/blockchain/Blockchain-Translations/blob/master/language.json. So no one must have had this problem before. Weird.

Now it is saying that the transaction is a double spend.
Please look at: https://blockchain.info/tx-index/96170453
But MtGox took away 20 bitcoin TWICE from my account. Aargh!

So now MtGox is creating double-spend transactions?

Just one more reason to avoid MtGox (as if there weren't enough reasons already).

It's very weird.

20 BTC did finally arrive.

But THAT transaction is still stuck:
https://blockchain.info/tx/67d1c656a65dc4c29f20292f4abecdb45d5a492091a167a0643fd50723f61dbf

Instead a new transaction appeared:
https://blockchain.info/tx/8f19ffc670efb7f7e203247df2f6a3979597d974730c9232c541a0bc1d02a656

And from my wallet in MtGox there is no notification of a third transaction.

So I suspect MtGox paid out of one of their own wallet this transaction after recognising that some bug in their software made this problem. I cannot find any other explanation.
So I don't think they are dishonest, or at least nothing in what happened made me think so.
But I do suspect that their software has some bugs. And in this business this is dangerous.

So wait, now you got the 40 BTC you should have or 20/40 btc?

Did you notice that the queue position was 20 a few minutes ago? It is now 14. Just wait and it will be confirmed.

Posted 12 minutes later:

Posted 21 minutes after that:

Did you notice that the queue position was 20 a few minutes ago? It is now 14. Just wait and it will be confirmed.

Now 15 minutes later:

Right wow. Next time pay a 0.0005 fee.

On a transaction where a fee of 0.001 BTC was paid? And where the person complaining is most likely the recipient of the transaction?  How exactly do you expect them to pay a transaction fee on a transaction they are receiving anyhow?

Can be frustrating when you keep saying "very soon now", and the transaction still isn't confirmed.  What makes you think that a transaction with a "none standard input" will EVER be confirmed?  Please avoid giving advice if you don't know what you're talking about.

Is there any possibility of losing the bitcoins?

Where were they sent from?

Most likely this transaction will disappear in another day or so, and the bitcoins will show up back in the senders wallet.

Mtgox

I'd start by sending a message to MtGox support right away letting them know that the transaction is not confirming.

I'd include a screenshot of the transaction from blockchain.info.

I'd also keep a copy of that screenshot for myself so I have the details if/when the transaction eventually disappears.

Possibly MtGox is already aware of the issue and will send a new transaction once this one is dropped from the memory pool, but if you see it disappear and don't see the bitcoins return to your balance at MtGox, I'd send another message asking them to investigate.

I opened an incident MANY hours ago and I have not had any reply.

(To be honest, I have created four trouble tickets and have not had any response)

What can I do?
