I recently was asked to take a look at someones trading on Mtgox and why their figures did not add up.

1. When trading from 'Currency' to BTC the 'Fee' is in BTC
2. When trading from BTC to 'currency' the 'Fee' is in 'Currency'.

Now here is the tricky part ……

You can ONLY filter on 'BTC' /'Currency' for the trading… so.. guess what.. I said to the guy…  50% of the 'fees' are invisible…….

you set it to 'BTC' and you can ONLY see BTC transactions and BTC fees, you set it to 'Currency' and you can ONLY see 'Currency' fees.

The GUI is deliberately designed so that you cannot get a full analysis of the fees without doing a massive amount of finger gymnastics….
worse still every time you use the 'filters' you have to use them once for the BTC and once for each currency you are trading in…

The only way to get a full analysis is to  use the CSV' files..

I've been using bitcoins for 2 1/2 years, and never once have I made a btc transaction on Gox.

Don't need 'em.  Nobody needs 'em.  They suck.  End of story.

Edit:  I deposited around 25 cents USD in BTC when I first opened an account in 2011.  Never did anything with it.  Later I found out that my account was completely gone (no password retrieval, no record of my email, no record of my account name...nothing) and so were my 25 cents.  To this day, I will adamantly claim that Gox stole 25 cents from me and never notified me about deleting my account.  Password strength was 20+ random alphanumeric characters and other symbols.  I want my quarter back, assholes.
