If you're a start-up under development consider the words of a genuine authority (vs armchair domain quarterback) on domain names and the relationship with a sticky name and your ability to raise future funding.

" We used to advise companies to spend $10k or less on a domain, then we upped that recommendation to $25k. We recently upped it again to $50k. I suspect domain prices and pre-money valuations of newly launched startups are highly corrrelated. "

If you were investing $500,000 dollars into a new business do you think investing $4,000 into proper signage in front of the business would be excessive?

Normally domains are worth a lot when the these key factors are involved:

-Exact match word(s) in search engines.

-Short names / acronyms.

-One-word brandable names.

-Domains with a high search volume.

I'll stop right there. Because, the domain doesn't contain many of these. It doesn't have a high search volume. Isn't a one word brand able name.
It isn't very short and most definitely isn't a acronym. Therefore, this domain to me isn't even worth the amount you paid for it in the beginning. Just because you haven't provided enough information. It doesn't include most of the things I have listed. If you are looking for someone who wants to run a exchange they would be pretty silly to have this name. It may removable. But, it isn't related to the subject in matter. Isn't searched very often.

Your comparison makes no sense. People would invest in a $4,000 sign if it was actually worth $4,000. Nobody would pay $4,000 for a sign if they saw similar signs going for much less. Your domain is not worth $4,000 because similar names are going for a fraction of that price. Why would people pay you $4,000 for bitjiffy.com when they can go register btcjiffy.com for $10?!

Seems the auction ended without any replies from the OP. OP are you going to be uploading this for a more realistic price?

It expired without a bid or any expression of interest.

Now that Bitcoin is generating significantly more interest outside the Bitcoin community, I'll probably approach the larger commercial domain community, when the time is right.

I'm in no hurry to sell it. It only appreciates in value as Bitcoin rises in value : )
