I have been looking into the real-world applications and implementation strategies for various cryptos and came across Joulecoin, XJO.  This coin has been around since 2013!  At first glance, it seems like just another fiat currency replacement.  However, it’s actually quite novel in that you can write transaction comments to the blockchain itself.

So what though, right?

Well, think about the real-world application of this as a business currency.  With the proper coding and software implementation, you could write client names, job names, etc. that can be tracked for business purposes.  Everything would not only be secured on the blockchain, but proof of all of the transactions occurring would be clearly visible to anybody looking into it if they had the tx hash.  Sure, this takes away from the anonymous nature of cryptocurrency, but real-world applications do not necessarily need to be truly anonymous.  The security of the blockchain itself is enough.

I have no idea how to implement this into any sort of application, but thought that it was a great idea to think/talk about.  I am not aware of another crypto that allows transaction comments that are written directly to the blockchain.  Please correct me if I am mistaken.
