This is definitely good news for Bitcoin, it shows that people at least trust crypto enough to believe it has a future enough worth investing in, even if not directly investing in crypto itself. Over time the UK will adopt a more direct approach and see investing in crypto directly as a suitable mode of financial growth.

Yeah, CME and CBoE bitcoin future contract offerings in December really push the price to its all-time-high. However, after that the price went on a spiral and we bottom at $6K with almost 80% downtrend. I'm not saying that the UK bitcoin future contracts is going to bad on the market, what I'm trying to say is that we have seen what happen before, and I hope that the pattern will not be the same. Currently the price goes up around $8500 which is a good sign that maybe this announcement made a lot of UK investors push their cash on the market. But lets see, its too early to say what's the effect long term. |

It's just an exchange that launched it, and a tiny one in the global scheme of things. The sum total of the British government's position on all crypto is a few pages from four years ago from the tax man as far as I can tell. The UK appears not to care in the slightest and may well find themselves totally left behind compared to the more proactive economies. |
