That might be a good move by the UK and maybe it will be imitated by many countries in the world, and I hope it will bring a good impact for the future.

The launch of bitcoin futures gives legitimacy over the criptocurrency in the eyes of institutional investors. Bitcoin will also gain second legitimacy after CME Group launches its own bitcoin futures next week. Until now, bitcoin has been widely owned and traded by a number of entrepreneurs. "The introduction of financial instruments provides the necessary market structure for institutions to allocate to cryptocurrency, which is a short-term and long-term positive,

Great news as the U.K launches her Futures. The last time US did same, the price of bitcoin increased fairly. In like manner, this move by the UK can reverse the downward movement of bitcoin prices.
Great! This shows that bitcoin is very developed in the world. Bitcoin will become an official currency in many countries. The UK has introduced a new bitcoin that demonstrates the potential for this currency to grow in the future. I hope Vietnam is the same.

This is a really good news that futures are introduced in the UK. It will slowly spread all over the world. And many countries will go towards development, people will be financially benefited. Ultimately, Cryptocoarbys Blockcan technology will be installed around the world. It can not be stopped.

The UK always seemed to me crypto friendly, so I find this news as a rather normal development. I wouldn't call it such a news. But nowadays, since Bitcoin is mainly uptrend, everything became again great news.

The UK is crypto nothing as far as I can tell. Banks are flat out anti, though that might be changing with Barclays and Coinbase, and there's isn't a shred of specific legislation anywhere. It's like the government is pretending it doesn't exist.

Yes, those could be good news, and from what I've heard they should be doing it next month. The first time I've heard that was on the 14th March on coindesk, so who knows if this last run on the prices wasn't already marketing that. Only a few days left for the end o the month, so I guess we will find out soon. NASDAQ seems to be keeping it's interest, now that it will partner with Gemini in order to track BTC prices, although it seems they won't be exchanging BTC soon, since they are waiting for more regulation, and a more mature market.

It's like the government is pretending it doesn't exist. Wirex is from UK, Coinsbank is from UK. And I think that I've read somewhere not long ago that more and more Bitcoin related companies open up in UK because the legislation is permissive on Bitcoin. Also it's better to have them pretend it doesn't exist than boycott it. Maybe your expectations on the politicians are too big. From what I see the whole Europe (UK included) will become quite a good place for Bitcoin and bitcoiners.

It doesn't exist. There's literally nothing, anywhere, as far as I can tell. On one hand that's useful for people looking to get rolling, on the other hand what happens if the government looks around at all the crypto madness fizzing away and decides to shit on it? The UK government has a pitifully stupid record when it comes to internet based stuff, though most of their ideas are abandoned as being moronic like having back doors into encrypted apps.

If I remember correctly when future contracts were launched in the CME market, the BTC started to fall and not increase. So knowing that a future will be launched in the UK will not give me hope.

What do you mean? is the future of bitcoin will be all the same thing over and over? value of bitcointalk wont be based to these news,or fundamentals because most of the people are using technical analysis with their trades which is why it is necessary to check if the t.a is good, those fundamentals will only support the technicala analysis.

Although it gives the market a tighter room for competition; I say that it's still good news because it show the masses that many countries, especially the big and powerful ones like UK is open to venturing in the market, thus, proving its legitimacy and capacity to give profit. Because, if it's not really legit, then a big and powerful country like UK won't waste it's time to take advantage of the market and adjust their ways just to make it work for the cryptocurrency market. Good news indeed.

It doesn't exist. There's literally nothing, anywhere, as far as I can tell. OK. Then maybe I've been remembering something wrong. Maybe I'll do some research tomorrow and if I get any info I'll edit this post.Edit: I've found some articles that "support my point" A very old one https://techcrunch.com/2015/07/31/uk-is-leading-the-way-to-become-a-global-bitcoin-hub/ And a very new one https://cointelegraph.com/news/how-british-financial-regulator-creates-a-foundation-for-uk-cryptocurrency-adoptionOn one hand that's useful for people looking to get rolling, on the other hand what happens if the government looks around at all the crypto madness fizzing away and decides to shit on it?
They won't. Germany has a head start. Most of the northern countries are more than okay. I've read Switzerland also joins the party. EU has allocated funds to help blockchain tech related companies (not Bitcoin, I know, but it's a good direction imho). UK will not piss against the wind. Not this bad. The UK government has a pitifully stupid record when it comes to internet based stuff, though most of their ideas are abandoned as being moronic like having back doors into encrypted apps.
I was right on this. You expect too much from politicians...

I would say futures are actually bad for the bitcoin market. After the futures ended is when the bitcoin price started plummeting. Futures pump up the price artificially

This is very good news and this is completely unexpected from the country like US who has initially banned bitcoin, has took such a great initiative for the bitcoin and launches bitcoin futures and i wish all other countries will also understand the potential of bitcoin and i wish india should be the first in this because in india the conditions are quite different with the bitcoin, in the current scenerio indian government is totally opposite to all cryptocurrencies, so i really want that india take initiate to legalize bitcoin in its nation and could realize the fact that btc has that potential that it could reduce the poverty of india.
