This will be a good news to them but not to us. The European Union is planning to create their own digital currency using blockchain technology that will be used in government services as well in their economy. They are planning to use such currency as a medium of exchange for buying goods within their territory. Such digital assets I guess will not be placed on the market but it is the 22 countries who will agree on the value of the coin so they can practically use it like the fiat currency but now only in digital form.

This is good news, the blockchain is getting more and more attention from countries.
The blockchain and the cryptocurrency market are inseparable, which will drive up the price of tokens.

the existence of this partnership or whatever this group is doesn't matter and you can't consider it good or bad. even the promises they make don't matter. what matters most is what they are going to do about bitcoin and regulations in general. if it is a wise and smooth rout it will be good but we are not always lucky and they may set some unreasonable regulations in place.

There is a FOMO brewing...

Good news... we'll see...
I would have been much more happy if they had established the European Bitcoin Parnership Tongue
Governments can make regulations in the favour of their blockchain and to make bitcoin a hard time (taxing bitcoin more than their own blockchain), so I'm not 100% sure that this is good news...

If they do release such a coin, then it will probably be huge. Assuming it is subject to the same price volatility as current cryptocurrencies, which would allow explosive growth and adoption. If they simply tether the price to the EUR, then I don't see why anybody would get excited. Either way, we should avoid a government controlled cryptocurrency, this isn't what we want.

The beginning of the end for Bitcoin in the EU.

They will develop and release their own controlled crypto for use within the EU then eliminate any competition.

I have been saying this for a long time.

Bitcoin = Beta testers for the software.

hopefully other countries in other continents can also follow the footsteps of the countries in Europe so that bitcoin growth will be faster to become a global digital currency around the world

I think that we are quite far from serious government controled blockchains.
But what's the most important for crypto market today is a green, bulish trend.

this is indeed very good news for crypto currency because now what this would suggest that the future of money is indeed to be found in the crypto world , this would be good for bitcoins in the sense that what we would have is a case of our bitcoins vs whatever they will call theirs and knowing the US they will do whatever is required to ensure that their coin is the top coin , hold onto your seats people its about to get very interesting .

Idk why but I get the vibe that this might be another mess in the making. Though it's good that they're recognizing the potential of the blockchain, still they wouldn't acknowledge bitcoin as the first true utilization of the blockchain tech. Without bitcoin, there would be no blockchain and vice versa. But anyway, though, we all know that any publicity is still good publicity for bitcoin, and there's still a bunch of people mixing up blockchain and bitcoin so it might turn out good or in favor of bitcoin.

As much as I hate this scenario and I wish it never happen - yet I know that you might be the closest to the truth than anyone in this thread.
European blockchain partnership is definitely not a good news as many people here would like to think.
This partnership is not about promoting bitcoin or any existing cryptocurrency - they would try to exploit this technology instead.
It is more about measuring the current market potential and based on that observation devise a controlled version of new private crypto.

This is good news, but we have to take note that its blockchain, and blockchain can mean lots of things, if they will include cryptocurrency in their dealings then it will be good for us, if not then the partnership wont be of much help

You are right. But I think it will help bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies too. Cryptocurrencies are the biggest product of the blockchain technology. These countries are discussing about the blockchain technology because of existence of the cryptocurrencies.

This is great news, as it shows adoption of the blockchain technology, and Bitcoin platform. This means the real movers, shakers, regulators, and policymakers are starting to get on board with the latest tech trend. Governments are usually pretty slow to adopt new tech right away. I'm not sure why, but I guess it is along the lines of, if It isn't broke, don't fix it.
Things simply need to just take time, sometimes. The price seems to be on a small, but steady incline. Maybe crypto has a chance after all?

I hope they wont restrict innovation, we have this platform simply because of the freedom we have and i really do not think that they will eliminate this market, they might come up with their own coins but that wont affect bitcoin, either way it is a good news and hope to hear about further developments.

Yes, bitcoin and blockchain are totally different, they are just interested in the technology behind bitcoin the blockchain, not the bitcoin itself.
I've been thinking about this scenario for a long time and it seems to be true that every country has their own centralized cryptocurrency which bad for bitcoin, clearly that bitcoin is a big threat for them. one thing that we can do is only watch, we have no power like they have.

This is a good news to the world of digital currency which is crypto for countries to come together to form an agreement on how to develop a blockchain technology, is a good news and this is going to help grow the market in terms of price increase and wider acceptability. I know a time like this is going to come but this is going to reduce the decentralization of of the cryptocurrency.

I'm sure my country France is going to rape us, they will just make in sort the bank can control digital money and control people so they spend through their own services rather than to do things on their own with crypto on the internet.
