I placed several bets for several months without withdrawing ever. In total I deposited 350 mbtc over this period. Right now my balance is 290mbtc, meaning I have an overall loss of 60mbtc. Which is fine, it's my own fault that I lose, not complaining about that.
However, now I finally have requested my first ever withdrawal (200mbtc as I will leave the other 90mbtc on my account to keep playing with) and a couple hours later I suddenly see the funds are back on my account. I was really surprised because I thought it would go quick and easy, especially because my account status showed in green color "verified".

I go into live chat and ask why my withdrawal appears to have been cancelled. I suddenly see in my account profile that it changed to "not verified" and the live chat operator copy/pasts me the following text:

So, despite I was informed that if you bet only in crypto, no verificaion is required, I suddenly now have to give out all my personal details. And not just some basic things, but all kinds of things as you can see above.

And this while I did not even make a profit on Buff! If I would have made a large win I would somehow still understand that a verification is required!
Also, I never took any bonus and never used a VPN/proxy to log in.

I chose Bitcoin bookies cause I value my privacy and now all this. I am very disappointed.

I hope you can check this within the management team and I hope this is all a mistake. Please let me know if all of this is necessary and if it is, it will be a big red flag for many crypto users in the future.

Hello Buff,

I have joined in August 2020 after I informed if crypto accounts can be anonymous and I was told yes.

I placed several bets for several months without withdrawing ever. In total I deposited 350 mbtc over this period. Right now my balance is 290mbtc, meaning I have an overall loss of 60mbtc. Which is fine, it's my own fault that I lose, not complaining about that.
However, now I finally have requested my first ever withdrawal (200mbtc as I will leave the other 90mbtc on my account to keep playing with) and a couple hours later I suddenly see the funds are back on my account. I was really surprised because I thought it would go quick and easy, especially because my account status showed in green color "verified".

I go into live chat and ask why my withdrawal appears to have been cancelled. I suddenly see in my account profile that it changed to "not verified" and the live chat operator copy/pasts me the following text:

As advised by our Risk management department, a document verification procedure of your account needs to be performed as a customer due diligence procedure.

As part of the standard customer verification procedure, we are kindly asking you to provide us with the following up-to-date (maximum 6 months old) photos of:

So, despite I was informed that if you bet only in crypto, no verificaion is required, I suddenly now have to give out all my personal details. And not just some basic things, but all kinds of things as you can see above.

And this while I did not even make a profit on Buff! If I would have made a large win I would somehow still understand that a verification is required!
Also, I never took any bonus and never used a VPN/proxy to log in.

I chose Bitcoin bookies cause I value my privacy and now all this. I am very disappointed.

I hope you can check this within the management team and I hope this is all a mistake. Please let me know if all of this is necessary and if it is, it will be a big red flag for many crypto users in the future.

Okay, well I thought this 2300 euro limit only counts when you are betting with fiat currency. You really made it look like that with crypto no verification at all is needed at any point. Also it's very misleading that the account status shows "verified" and later on this can change to "not verified". What is the value of having it listed as verified then? Verified means it should stay verified in my view.

So, what is the threshold in mbtc for a withdrawal without verification? Is this the equivalent of 2300 euro? Please let me know how much mbtc I can withdraw now before the verification already because I need some mbtc really soon and I cannot wait all that long until the verification is completed.

Also I suggest you change the opening post of this topic because there is no mention at all that if you reach 2300 euro or more there will be a verification needed.

Do you have any reasons to believe that the user GekkeBelg has abused your TOS, is using multiple accounts, or did anything else to warrant asking for KYC? If not, and his story is true, It doesn't seem right that you request that he undergoes KYC when you allowed him to deposit and play without going through KYC from the very beginning. If you have a €2.300 limit, you shouldn't allow users deposit funds without informing them or asking for KYC before the deposit. Doing it your way, makes it look like you are fine with players depositing and gambling with any amounts as long as they lose it. When they win, or like in this case, they ask for their money back, things change. 

If he lost money, and you have no reasons to believe he has broken any rules, why require KYC? If he rejects sending his private info, are you going to take his money that doesn't belong to you?

Well if you are a net winner, then I can imagine a KYC can be justified in some cases. However, I think any serious crypto book should always allow a user to withdraw up to the amount of his total deposits without KYC.
Especially if they advertise with no verification needed for crypto accounts.

Since last year, every licensed gambling company in Curacao has to ask its customers to comply with the kyc procedure when paying out. which could add up to 2300 eur.

There are 4 master license holders in Curacao. The buff.bet licensee may have these strict requirements, and it may be more flexible with others.

I don't think you can get around it and that buff.bet is obliged to perform this check. If you have nothing to hide, you better start the verification soon.
