The trouble with this miner, if I am not mistaken, is that it is not profitable unless your electricity costs are extremely low; is that right? I am honestly pretty interested in the unit, because I may have access to exactly that, but I'm looking to get a better handle on things before I jump into ASIC mining. I've been having a good time with GPU miners, what sort of returns are you getting from this? It hashes at 4TH/s? Aren't these just underclocked S7's or something like that?

More or less yes. Keep in mind unlike GPU miners these things are LOUD

Depending on a few things before power, a bit over $1.25 a day.
I have a fixed cost for power (if I use it or not) where I have these, so it's a different calculation for me then a lot of other people.

Same chip as far as most people think, *very* slightly different design on the units themselves. A bit smaller then the original S7s.

Thanks for the informative response. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to mining, so it's nice when people don't get upset about my constant questioning. Sounds like you're profiting and so it might be better in your hands until I determine my electricity situation better.

I had not considered the noise difference in GPU mining Vs. ASIC mining. Everyone is telling me that it is ungodly. So, for now I'll have to pass. I didn't want to leave you hanging for a response.

Everytime you drop the price I get a little bit more interested in buying it strictly for the sake of having another miner on hand. On the other hand, I've finally gotten my hands on a nice ASIC and they are indeed LOUD. I'm not sure how the noise from the V9 compares to the noise of the L3+, but I imagine they are relatively similar. I'll be watching this thread, if for nothing other than to see how low you are willing to go for this machine. I'm thinking $80 might be low enough to make me grab it. That's probably too low for you, at least at this point, but let me know if I'm mistaken.

I can't help but feel like my lowball offer served as a bump to facilitate the deal. I definitely wouldn't mind receiving an Agent-Fee, for assisting in the marketing of your miner. In case you can't tell, I'm joking.

That being said, this is the first Newbie I have ever seen with a positive trust rating from a DT member (are there others?). I was initially convinced that this was going to be a B.S. offer and an attempt at your miner, but then I looked into it and saw them mention OG's escrow. Very interesting, good luck to the both of you on having a smooth transaction.

But I had msgd him earlier in the day, but figured he ignored it because of a newbie. So I posted after you bumped. I've used og for 2 escrows. I just can't get this newbie Tag to go away lol

If there is an associated Bitcoin address that you can prove ownership of then there is a good chance you'll receive your account back. The newbie tag will dissipate in due time, I wouldn't worry too much about that. He's been active and posting, so it would seem strange the they wouldn't accept your offer and respond, especially since you are offering to use a reputable escrow and pay their fees. Being a newbie is no reason not to take your offer seriously.

He responded, and im receiving the package today, its out for delivery right now. I cant remember the email to even send it a recovery. And dont know of i had a addy attached lol.. But thanks! The transaction has been super easy, hes a great guy to work with!

No worries, I just wanted to make sure that your offer was taken seriously, because you seem like an honest user just out to buy some hardware. You actually don't even need to know the email to make an attempt at recovery.
