i have a 5830, 4850. i would like to use both. just wondering if it can be done? just want to use the 4850 until my other 3 5830s get here. here are my specs just in case you need them.

cpu - i5 750
mobo - asus p7p55d ( can fit 4 cards with extenders)
ram - 2gb stick ddr3
psu - 710w kingwin(upgrading to 1000w soon)
gpu - asus 5830, visiontek 4850, 3x sapphire 5830( on the way)
case - caseless
hdd - 320gb wd blue
dvd burner.

You should be able to mine with different cards, but you will need linux for 5 or more cards.

You should be able to mine with different cards, but you will need linux for 5 or more cards.

Ignore the man. 11.6b drivers or later allow for up to 8gpus. Linux is the same way, its a driver limitation, not an os one.

Yes.

There can be some mobo limitations, but I have several mixed rigs, including a HD5xxx/HD4xxx/Nvidia triple combo.

As people already mentioned.. Yes you can, as long as you have enough pci ports, and you have enough space, if putting more than 2 cards in there - its always good to watch between spacing of pci slots.
