Bitcoin’s Hype Vanishes Just Like That: ‘We’re in the Boring Phase’

I personally love the boring phase anyway. At least we have a lot of sanity for individuals who really believe in its usage than it just being a speculative asset which a lot of people are used to because of their greed of seeing the market just shooting up forever which they should have known this is not the case.

Still, if we get to see it just once in a while it is better, but due to the fact that everything always get messy, transactions increase all of a sudden, you get to pay a whole lot more for making a simple transaction all makes it crazy. Isn't the serenity just lovely as it is?

ha yes the boring phase is kinda nice. I like it because we get to see what Bitcoin is really worth. During the hype phase you don't really know how the market values bitcoin because a lot of it is new money trying to make a quick buck and you don't know how much of that money will disappear when its not constantly going up.

But now we know! Bitcoin's base value is about $6000. Six times what the value was a year ago! That's fantastic!
If it has the same percentage increase two more times that puts it over $200k! Makes that $250k prediction in 2022 seem actually quite possible.
So now when someone says bitcoin is worthless, you can say nope, even in the absolute worst market for bitcoin when people were in total panic and bad news was hitting week after week for months on end and everyone who didn't truly value bitcoin and were just trying to make a quick buck from it got out of it, it was still worth $6000, far more than $0!

Also if you have spare money during this "boring phase" it is the absolute best time to buy!

"Bitcoin hype is gone and everyone should avoid it"?

Come on, that doesn't make any sense.

Yes, we're in the "boring phase". Aka a bear market. Isn't that normal, however, throughout history, with basically every single investment? There is no expectation for bitcoin to perform every year like it did in 2017, and that's a reason to avoid bitcoin?

Come on now. In fact, I'd say this "boring phase" is the best investment opportunity you'll see in a while, because prices are cheap. While people who believe in articles like this will avoid the boring phase and buy in when the hype is at its fullest, the smart thing to do is to buy now, and unload when the hype is at its peak.

Well I can't argue with that. It exploded for its investment potential; its rising price was its claim to household name fame. It's only natural, then, that once the price surge is over, so would the hype. That being said, so what? It rose to fame for the wrong reason anyway, so I don't mind that it's over. It's not a bad thing in the least, because what's important is that people at least know that it exists.

The next step would then be creating a viable mainstream currency out of it and have people realize it's not just an investment. A number has already used it, and people already know about it, so that hype has already served its purpose in the big picture by lowering the barrier of entry in a way.

We might just me in ‘a boring phase’ but that’s a good thing, build up a strong support & consolidate at this price. It could give us what we need for a Q3 - Q4 of 2018 pump.

Now is a good time to buy.

The hype is gone and with it many of the uninformed investors who thought that bitcoin was the second coming of the messiah. Bitcoin is not here to make everyone rich, it is here to facilitate transactions in an efficient manner that is transparent and decentralized. The hype was still good for something, it allowed Bitcoin in to the limelight for a while. While many people got in for the wrong reasons, it will have put it on the radar of many others who will now be looking in to it and considering it for the right reasons. This boring phase is going to be highly important in the development and adoption of bitcoin. Just as important, if not more so than the hype.
