it's insane thinking about all the things that can be monetized. i signed up last week and i was wondering if anyone was selling their accounts, especially since you can make money by posting ads in your signature.
i'd rather let my account go inactive than sell it for $20 anyways.

Well yes, but if it was high they could be used for scamming. it could also be used for sig ads.. but yeah, that kind of stuff compromises the community here. and it seems like bitcointalks can't do anything, short of buying the account and disabling it. |

The only reason to buy this is for a scam. Yeah pretty much. I think theymos should prevent this from happening. For example an account (+IP) ban for the seller and the buyer. That's ridiculous. I'd use a proxy or VPN. |

You can never stop people from using a proxy, but atleast they don't have the account they wanted to sell. You can't just allow it if people are using it for scams right?
People can always register new ones and use those. |

It think such advertisements only attract people who are going to scam people here. Who else wants to buy and old account with a few posts? If it had many posts, the owner could earn some $ with it by advertising third parties in their signature. But that's not the case now.
Unfortunately the account's owners where so smart to not tell their accountnames. Bitcointalk should otherwise ban their accounts in my opinion.
