Thought it was about time to cross-post from the securities sub-forum.

Creativex hasn't been in contact or contactable in weeks (very unlike him) and divs have not been paid.

Does anyone know him personally?

Has anyone heard from him since 20 Oct?

Anyone in Michigan, US (possibly Grand Rapids, Albion or E Lansing) want to help track him down? PM me.

I was just going to start a thread by myself.

Since BTCT will go offline soon, here is a a BASIC-MINING backup:
http://creativexscam.bplaced.net/basic-mining-backup.html

Basic-Mining.com -> Whois protection

He bought some mining hardware from bitcointalk users, but so far I could find only one person who dealt with him.

Possible buyers/sellers:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=249873.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=270156.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=250753.0
There are other threads but I already asked the seller or creativex wasn't really interested.

Some other information, but not sure if fake or not:

Could be all fake if he planned this all along.

I think his is still mining at Bitparking, at least the latest transaction he recieved point to http://blockchain.info/de/address/18cSDzSuRa4BtfKNu4qAPfeiS57uC9kER4 -> Bitparking?
We should contact the admin.

More info

2563 Koala Drive, E Lansing, MI 48823-7211
708 Hoaglin Street, Albion, MI 49224-1044

Possible Addressees. Anyone near ??. As other have said, we could all chip in and hire a PI. For me that is the best solution.

I'm a shareholder that lives in the Southeast, willing to help any way I can. If somebody is closer I have no qualms aiding in travel expenses to someone reliable.

Possibly a PI if this fails?

EDIT:

Quote from: dexX7 posted a very comprehensive list of info in the BASIC thread

Bump time, someone says they have hired a PI for this matter and are getting things rolling on this.

Here's the post with that information: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=130982.msg3567217#msg3567217

I haven't received approval nor response about the google group, are we hitting a wall? Does anyone with interest live near MI? Maybe even someone who is just traveling through on business?

I'm not sure if there's a more recent thread for this, but the bASIC-Mining one was locked a few months back, (apparently by creativex himself). [https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=130982.2100]

I know it's been years, but this scam still intrigues me and would love it if we could come to some sort of conclusion or get a response from creativex. I know he was still active on these forums as late as May for posting and deleted some details in the original bASIC-mining thread more recently.

In the btt thread above, there's discussion on a Google group, (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/basic-mining), and some photos of what looks like, Eric's brother, Brett Corlew. I think this is Brett's facebook profile → https://www.facebook.com/brett.corlew.7 maybe he knows something more about Eric's whereabouts. Here's some more info on him & his criminal history → https://www.rapsheets.org/michigan/doc-prisoner/CORLEW_BRETT/781538.

In the obituary of Eric's mother, → http://obits.mlive.com/obituaries/grandrapids/obituary.aspx?pid=171725093 it states that she is survived by a few grandchildren, I wonder if they're the children of Eric's, Brett's, (or other siblings). One of them, Kyle Corlew, looks like he has a Facebook profile → https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100008674654405 and possibly also Brandon Corlew here → https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100011765444623.

Anyone else still interested in pursuing this or am I the only one?

This probably interests no one but I'm now fairly certain now that Eric Corlew (CreativeX; the scammer behind bASIC mining) was an alias used by Brett Corlew. Brett and Eric Corlew are one in the same person. Eric was a known alias of Brett Corlew according to this reference: https://mugshots.com/search.html?q=%20Brett%20Michael%20Corlew.

Looking further into this, it looks like he was killed in a motorcycle accident a few months back. (https://www.woodtv.com/news/kent-county/1-dead-after-crash-in-cutlerville/) "...a 51-year-old Grand Rapids man, was killed. He was identified Friday as Brett Corlew." This matches up with his DOB.

bASIC mining was one of many scams perpetuated through the guis of mining operations early on in bitcoin's history. I would have loved to hear his side of the story, but sadly I don't think that will ever happen.
