Some believe that the secret of a successful project is the individual work, and unfortunately, this is a wrong belief.
For me, the partner  is necessary to facilitate the success of any business , is someone who has a good knowledge in some field which you need it, and he/she can  help you to improve your strategy in order to reach your goal in a shortcut way.

But how to choose the appropriate partner?
Before everything, you should know what you want ( the skills , experience ...).
You must know the nature of the partner which is appropriate for your business and understand the person's goals.
Believe me, the nature of a person rarely changes. In contrast, Goals and ambitions may change when there is a  new event or situation.

On the other hand, you should avoid the negative thoughts or  questions. ( Can they help me to do this project?, Will they do this work  in a  long period? ...)

So after you choose the right partner(s)  for your project, How your behaviours should be towards them?

 1-Be a leader not a boss:
The leader is one who helps his partners in many things and does not abuse or pressure them.
Fixes  the errors.
Hears the opinions of others, then gives his idea.
He/she always close to his team.
...

(Source: https://www.lelanddieno.com/2018/03/a-leader-stands-right-with-his-or-her-team/)

(*These two tips are related  to the first point* )
2- Do not order, just ask:
The majority of people do not want orders, so the best thing is to ask , I will explain this point through this example:
When you order your partner through this way: Do this thing within 24 hours. Find a solution for this problem.
Then, he/she may change with you and become uncomfortable for work , and you may lose him. It will be a great loss for you, especially when he/she have unique skills.
But when you ask him like this way :  Can you help me to do this thing please?
Can you  help me to find a solution ?..

Then, He/she will find himself comfortable with you.

3-Motivate your partner:
Motivation is the most essential thing , and it will be by giving positive energy (+) to your partner  , then He/she will give a great effort to help you in many ways and this lead to  improvement and  development in your project .
And negative speech must be avoided   because it will lead to negative energy (-) .

" One hand doesn't clap"

I hope these tips will help everyone.
Have a good weekend guys.  Cheesy

Nice tips, although you've spent more time talking about the qualities of a boss instead of answering the question in the thread. Knowing the qualities of a person won't help you to choose right, as people rarely disclose their real motives and aren't open with their future employers or partners. Being too open and too honest is seen as a vulnerability in business. While skills are great to have and show around, the motives and features of your character are not. You want to take it slow, observe, and decide what you want to reveal.

As for the choice of a partner, you will have to spend some time with him to know if he can be trusted and what he really can do. That's why people often start companies with their school friends and roommates.

Of course no one is a an island, to be successful to need to find a good dancing partner. But it's one of the difficult thing to do because its also like a marriage, you really don't have a idea what or who that person is until you two stay in one roof and how you deal with problems lately. And you also have to remember that in money, nothing is permanent, you may have enjoyed some good times but at the end of the day, its how your deal with obstacles. That's when the true colors of your partner will really show. Can he/she really be trusted or he/she will just give up and leave you. That's why you will see some successful ventures in history, is not smooth in the beginning, but they decided to stick it out and they are rewarded later. Just look at Facebook, it has ups and downs but they go fall and stand up together no matter what.

I have always liked that idea of being a leader instead of a boss; I try to make some people understand this, but they think it means lowering your status as the head. Psychologically, a leader who is members of his or her team  shows that the leader is willing to learn. If you want a successful project as a leader, you need to level your standard to that of your workers and partner with them. Remember no idea is completely useless.

This is why I don't like partnership.

Sometimes your partner is forgetting that you two are partners, not one is a slave (low capital investor) and the other one is the boss (high capital investor). I gave up with one of my partnership as it seems the high capital investor is making himself as the boss and giving his ideas which are actually not good for the business.

The 1,2,3 list must be seen by those aspiring people who wants to start their own company/business ventures.

To choose a good partner you need to run some auditions. Ask people about their hobbies, goals, past experiences and projects. If you're choosing an employee you can stop with his education and experience, but with a partner you need someone that you will be spending some time. You need someone who can communicate, an open person that wants to push the project forward. You don't want someone lazy or someone who wants fast money.

I understand your point,  but look around the world, every successful project is an hand work of a partnered team. No man is an island, you can't seem to do all the work yourself. Other peoples' ideas matters so much in a successful business because what you may think is right, another person may look at it in another perspective and see a possible short come. What you should look out for is a trustworthy, smart and hard-working partner.

A good partner should be the person that you really know and you really trust. You know the he would not sell you just for money or stabbing you at the back.

Very interesting question!
Of course, in my early days I got it wrong on choosing my business partner.

But don’t you think, the only way to know a person well is by working together? So by the time you know the person well, it may be too late or you maybe one lucky person to have found the right person.

Therefore, before committing to anything, work with number of your potential suitors then choose the one you get on with.. Many will come with a good smile and lots of promise but when come to delivering it only few can do it - ambition alone is not the result!

Good luck..

To choose a good partner for your project. You need to find people who share your passion. He has the appropriate capacity, high sense of responsibility in the work. And choose the person with the foresight in the broad, have a good strategy in the business. Selecting such a person will help the project succeed.

The main secret of finding a good partner is finding one who will not stab you in the back and, probably,  steals your work and sell it off to another team. The one major problem that most good leader have is finding the right partner. Because most times,  the leaders have good intentions for his partner, but whereas the partner never does. This days, it's hard to find a good person.

This is indeed always been part of the reality on where we do only hit up perfect/suitable partners if we do tend to make investments. Finding those people would really be rare because once you had find out this man then expect positive results. For images posted above I agree that we should be a leader and not to be a boss, collaborating well with your partner will always having a high chances of success. There might be struggles but a good tandem can able to resist those stuffs.

Yes no one man is an island and I know about it. But there are people who wants to stay safe with their own business and don't want to get partnership because of some problems.

Being an individual business doesn't mean that you are an island, of course there are people you will along your way and it's going to be a long journey.

Looking for a trustworthy and hardworking partner nowadays is very rare.

It's very hard this day to find a good partner. Good partner are very rare this day cause almost every everybody you meet are looking for their own personal gain and not for the success of the project in question. Some even go to the extend of making you to trust them, when the person finally does, they turn around and betray them. Not all partners are bad though, if you find a good one, it your luck.

In choosing a partner, I think that you should choose people with at least 60-70% difference of personality (sounds a lot, but there's a reason); however, you both (or more) should all have the same exact strong passion for the project you are undertaking together - this is what is keeping the motivation of the project going. For the difference in personality, it is an avenue to allow different perspectives and solutions, because if you are the same, fresh ideas will be hard to come in frequently. Also it helps with team strategy; for example with partners of different temperamental qualities say an introvert and an extrovert, in negotiating with potential investors, both partners can play the roles of good-cop-bad-cop which has a positive effect during negotiations.

Actually you can read the op post how the project has been lead by any boss. They have to be a leader only not like image shown in the first post. Please do not hire or join a people who is not good at domain knowledge.
If you hire people with the coding knowledge they will not be able to help you that much faster. But if you hire a people with the domain knowledge alone you will be able to train him faster than a coder.
