BLOCKCHAIN
Using advanced blockchain technology, this layer powers the entire ecosystem and provides the source of data that interconnects with the other layers in either a public or private environment. Through carefully scripted and guarded access points, a private blockchain solution is now available to verifiable users and entities to participate in the network, thus bringing public chain capabilities into enterprise – a new service we call the Blockchain DMZ (De-militarised Zone).

STORAGE
The ProximaX storage layer is deployed through a Distributed File Management System (“DFMS”) protocol which integrates directly with the blockchain layer. Its peer-to-peer distributed architecture makes the network decentralised and users free from the influence of any third-party storage provider, and allows for client-side encryption for maximum data security. This system is immune to common threats of security and privacy as it is based on encrypted and sharded file storage in a peer-to-peer network.

STREAMING
Utilizing Sirius Streaming Protocol ("SSP") for high security, high performance, real-time messaging, and streaming services, users  can utilize fully anonymous, end-to-end encrypted messaging, and anonymous video streaming.  Designed as a privacy routing protocol, SSP is insulated and eliminates the risk of maintaining exit nodes and out proxies. The ProximaX streaming service layer is available in two options: live streaming, for fully anonymous interaction between users; and storage streaming, which provides streaming content from storage which is mostly used for pre-recorded streaming instances.

DATABASE
The database layer consists of a technology stack that uses a document-based database (MongoDB) backed by Tendermint technology as its blockchain enforcement mechanism. This layer is a database with blockchain properties that has simple transfer transaction contracts, its own asset management, and metadata storage. Like any blockchain, the database technology also runs in a decentralised manner and maintains the MongoDB as its ledger to store the chain of records identified by a hash. Developers can build secure applications with powerful indexing and querying functionality where data enjoy optimum loading time, presence and integrity.

To maintain its integrity and value, ProximaX steps up the game from traditional blockchain and introduces concurrent advanced and complex consensus algorithms with a combination of 1) Proof of Stake (PoS); 2) Proof of Storage (PoSt),  for measuring allocation of distrbuted disk space and; 3) Proof of Bandwidth (PoB), a costly and more precious commodity in delivery of data and streaming media – in a side chain. Bandwidth measurement is rarely factored into mainstream blockchain projects as a reward metric to the node workforce. ProximaX is changing that.

System Solutions
The ProximaX Sirius platform can be used to develop powerful systems solutions in a rapid and cost-efficient manner for a wide range of use cases. Early traction from a diverse range of uses has been seen in industries ranging from government to F&B to sports to medical diagostics.

Applications
Parallel to developing the blockchain-powered platform on which third parties can develop their own applications, ProximaX has also developed a range of applications available as white-label products that can be further customised by users and clients.

That's not true in this case. It's not 'after' but 'before'. First you receive an email if you are accepted, before investing.

the "hard cap" appears high if calculated like that. But I would guess that there won't be all 150K stakes sold.
I think it´s a great addition for the NEM ecosystem and therefore if you have patience and not in for a quick flip, it´s a good one in my eyes

I've got a hunch that the boom is only starting now for blockchain tech, like dotcom.

Along with it, crypto will start to rise.

Companies associated with blockchain tech will be termed sexy like companies of the dotcom boom in the mid nineties.

Although it only attracted VCs and institutional funds then, it will have crypto boys in the game this time, making the bubble much bigger

Do understand that a forming bubble means it will get bigger. The bust of the dotcom bubble happened around the year 2000, more than 5 years after it started bloating.

Unlike the dotcom bust, the collateral win here is that crypto, like commodities and stocks, will undergo cyclical lows and highs. Bubbles will form, bust and re-form. It is here to stay, unless governments ban it totally.

Meanwhile, blockchain tech companies will come and go, and amidst the ashes from the fires of the "gold rush", an odyssey of phoenixes will rise.

Whatever we do, the frontrunning blockchain tech companies will be the winners throughout.

ProximaX is one company that we hope will become a front runner in the game and take blockchain tech play to a new level playing field.

A summary of Lon's thoughts:       
• It is a fallacy that it is easy to raise money through an ICO and it is not a gold rush. 
• It is important for ICOs to come up with a value proposition in view of regulators clamping down on ICOs and scam projects. 
• On what 2 cryptos he would back, Lon declined to name any specific project but said that one should always look for ones that are backed by real projects.         
• When asked whether regulators can stop ICO processes globally, Lon pointed out that this was not possible as there are already jurisdictions around  the world that are already open and welcoming ICOs.
• Lon also warned that it is not possible to stop scammers and fraudsters so it is up to the investor to use his own intelligence to size up a project.

The month of September had all of us focused on finalizing most of our applications as well as our core platform research. Most of our applications are either in UAT or Pre-Production Stage. Our core platform research has been ongoing, parallel with the development of its respective modules.

Core Platform - Development Status
Our research has mostly focused on solidifying the approach, including the set of actors, modules, data flow, the token, and consensus. The scope of these all is just too big to fit into a single blog post so I will dedicate an entire post to share the high-level design, consensus schematics and a white paper on a separate update hopefully within the month of October.

ProximaX Platform - Sirius
The codename for this platform that we are rolling out is called Sirius. Sirius is taken from the top ten brightest stars in our galaxy which clearly represents what we want to achieve; the initial rollout of what will define ProximaX that will shine the brightest of them all.

The ecosystem of ProximaX revolves around the network actors we have. These actors are the nodes that work together to achieve the platform services that it'll offer.

Application Development
Most of the applications we've been developing are functionally done but almost all of them are being transitioned from NIS1 version to Catapult. Below, are some of the following key updates we have.

ProxiDocs to ProxiSuite
ProxiSuite is an office application based on NextCloud, OnlyOffice, and integrated with ProximaX technology. The office suite is fully capable of supporting real-time document management based on Microsoft / Open Office document files. The OnlyOffice extension backed by Proximax technology allows users to create and manage their documents using the decentralized storage and blockchain encryption mechanism. We may decide to rename ProxiSuite at a later date via a competition once there is clarity on the functions of the application.

Ongoing Contribution Projects
ProximaX, as a company, is also contributing to the Catapult/NEM project. Below are some of the projects we are building as a contribution to NEM.

Catapult Desktop Wallet
We're building a ProximaX Catapult desktop wallet that can be used to manage our coins, in particular, the XPX coins. This is now ongoing and we have a few screens to show its progress.


Once done, we will contribute this to the public, so that everyone can use our powerful desktop wallet and extend its functionalities for their own use.

The desktop wallet is not your typical wallet. We are building a framework and SDK service on top of it so that anyone can extend and use it for their own set of applications. Anyone can develop using our plugin framework on typescript/javascript and customize the wallet.

Catapult SDKs
We're building 3 Catapult SDKs as our contribution to NEM Foundation technology, written in Golang, Python and Swift 4.

This essentially means that once this is released, platform developers will be able to use the SDK to build their powerful applications on top of the Catapult blockchain.

We'll be opening these SDKs to the public soon.

- Will the xpx token be used only in the public network?

True, only in public. The plan for the development of the application is the following - there will be a set of SDKs that will be available to developers on the public network.

We will have 2 tokens - xpx and stable coin. Both can be used for platform services. When you use storage (for example) for your applications, they must pay for services depending on the revenue model specified by the storage host. The fee is divided into different system participants, including verifiers and validators of the blockchain.

The monthly subscription will be set by the service provider that uses the proximax.

Therefore, in fact, it is not proximax that determines the revenue model, but providers of services and resources (storage, streaming).

In terms of adaptation, there is an economic game. Besides just running mainnet, we have to look at supply and demand.

The concept is that when using storage or streaming services, the network will also look for the location of the node (this is part of PoCA). There should be resource providers and users. You cannot have a location where all are resource providers and there are no users, because no one will work.

Part of the strategy is to make sure that proximax hosts rerurs in the region + public nodes. We are committed to business development so that we can develop applications that will use the resources located in this area.

Therefore, we balance supply and demand.

- Does the corporate solution use only your private chain? How and what is the payment in XPX?

When everything is done, we will offer both options (both private and public), but at the moment we are aggressively promoting private. This is what we have now. We have a private blockchain, storage and database, and most companies prefer to have a private setting.

We are working on a model of revenue-licensing so that XPX’s fees for these services are paid. If they use, for example, KYC, they must pay a certain amount of XPX to obtain a license. They will use the license to confirm their ownership.

Programming languages: Blockchain (Catapult) = C ++, Storage / Streaming = Go.

- When the release of the public network?

The release of the test version will be phased. We aim to launch test network nodes this month, storage network test nodes by the end of December or January and streaming test network nodes by January or February. But our goal for the public chain is Q2 next year.

The ProximaX Sirius platform consists of a Distributed File Management System, a work collaboration module, and an enterprise version of the NEM Catapult private chain solution.


The deployment of the platform has now enabled MOCD to continue to add in more applications as they start to implement their blockchain initiatives. The platform can further be enhanced by adding more components into the Sirius platform, such as streaming and messaging, decentralised database, and permissioning solutions.

ProximaX Sirius Launches Blockchain Test Network

We are delighted to announce today that we have deployed 5 nodes for our blockchain testnet. This testnet is based on the NEM Catapult private chain which has been augmented and amended to suit the requirements of the Proximax Sirius platform. We have included in this testnet a Proof of Stake - PoS, which we adapted from the NXT project. We have decided to use PoS instead of Proof of Importance - PoI, because we believe that the PoS will work just as well. Further, PoI has shown to have little impact on the overall score and is closely related to PoS. Eventually the PoS will only be one part of the equation that forms the Proof of Conflation Aggregate - PoCa.

Leading to our main network launch, the testnet shall be used as a staging environment so that all changes and amendments can be tested by everyone in the community thoroughly. In carrying out this testing, we hope that we can highlight and address all security issues before moving to the main network.

At the same time, we believe that this will be monitored closely by the NEM core development team. In so doing, we hope that they will learn from our experience, thereby making the NEM mainnet a better solution.

A Year In Review by Lon Wong



2018 has been exciting, momentous, and at the same time, challenging for me. As the year draws to a close, I am inspired to share my thoughts on the events that have so shaped us at ProximaX.

ProximaX 2018 in review
ProximaX was launched in early April concurrently with its fund raise, and the XPX token was issued in early June on the NEM blockchain. The following months thereafter, we experienced a steep growth curve in the development of the project. We developed a few applications including an enterprise collaboration tool - ProximaX Suite, a KYC solution on the ProximaX Sirius platform, built SDKs, contributed code to the NEM Catapult project, built a Catapult wallet and explorer, developed the Proof of Stake model based on the NXT project, and in November we launched our public testnet. I must say that ProximaX has a team of highly skilled developers who were able to change the code to suit our needs. More about that later.

From the onset, I have envisioned ProximaX to be an all-in-one solution, combining the Nem Catapult blockchain protocol with off-blockchain distributed service layers to provide the best of both blockchain and traditional SaaS worlds to our users and developers. This is realized in our core infrastructure solution ProximaX Sirius, designed to support enterprise grade applications.

Amidst all the development taking place, we closed a few deals to power some interesting solutions. Among them was the Ministry of Community Development (MOCD), UAE, where we developed a proof of concept within a record time of two weeks. The project was to develop a voting system, a notarization solution, and a collaboration solution. We are now working with MOCD towards a live roll out soon.

In addition, we also engaged enterprise customers and partners across the world in sectors as diverse as food & beverage, sports, medical diagnostics, human resource management, e-commerce and fashion. These customers and partners are using ProximaX for use cases such as supply chain management, KYC, file storage, authentication, payments and record management, demonstrating the extensive capabilities of our platform, even though we are still very early on in our journey.

Another great achievement was the successful development of a sophisticated e-money mobile application utilizing the ProximaX Sirius platform, that includes a distributed database solution. Because this was designed for both commercial use and also to handle fiat money, there were many things that needed to be considered, especially with respect to KYC and money laundering management. I believe that this is the first commercial grade mobile app with a comprehensive management solution using the all-powerful Catapult blockchain to manage transactions.

Initially, only 255 multisig accounts could be signed off at any one time, which posed a potential issue to the commercial viability of the app. However, the team came up with an algorithm to enable signing beyond 255 accounts to cater for billions of accounts, if so required, with no significant impact on transaction speed. This was an important leap forward in order for the app to be commercially viable. Preliminary tests showed that we could easily achieve 1500 multisig transactions per second (different from straight through transactions), which is good enough for mobile payments. In fact, we actually did not fully stress test this to the maximum as there was no urgency to do so. In any case, we believe we have a breakthrough solution to push multisig transactions and straight through (non-multisig) transactions even higher.

I am proud to have world class developers making changes to the core code for all the distributed technologies on our platform, including the NEM Catapult. Few know that we are collaborating closely with the NEM developers so that any update from either side will be recognized and merged systematically, where appropriate. Together, we have also produced a framework where variables, constants, and naming convention of the code are standardized. In my opinion, when it comes to extensive knowledge, code tweaking, and production deployment of the Catapult blockchain, we are to date, one of few outside the core developers of NEM that have this ability. Our team can quickly deploy a production quality ProximaX Sirius platform in a matter of days.

Since April, the ProximaX team has grown substantially and we are now over 30 strong, spread across Asia, Australia, North America and Europe.

PROXIMAX MARCH 2019 UPDATE

The month of March has been extremely productive for the entire technology team. Most of the activities are a continuation of existing development work with some significant highlights for the core platform, infrastructure, and our applications.

Core Development

This month we performed further research and design on how the storage life cycle will work.

Storage Drive Life Cycle

One new concept is the drive life cycle, which will allow participants to contribute to the network with either a dynamic or a fixed drive storage. We had to consider multiple business use-cases to establish a reliable, secure and economically fair process for our decentralised market place.

When someone wants to join the network as a participant, he/she will need to install the required software and commence the storage drive life cycle. This life cycle is essentially a process for onboarding a node, which includes validation checks, and the set-up of an initial default reputation score.

Users/consumers can then announce a “Drive Contract” to initiate an upload to an acceptor node. A market selection process occurs to select the replicators that will agree to providing a file replication service.

From a user’s perspective, there will be several operations that can be initiated which will be used to assist with file uploads.

Prepare Drive Process

- PrepareDrive() - Initiated by a consumer to establish the set of node-replicators that agree to handling drive storage.
- Upload - Upload of file to the decentralised drive.
- Delete() – Deletion of file using the given hash.
- Modify() – Modification of file, which is essentially a combination of Delete() and Upload().
- Directory() - Initiated by a node participant that wants to join a Drive Contract and store files.

The above functions are quite self-explanatory. Basically the operations can be called upon to initiate storage drive operations. A more detailed deep dive explanation of the storage drive life cycle will be available in the technical whitepaper update.

Cross Verification Protocol
The new design also includes cross-verification protocol for replicators. In our ecosystem, the replicators also play the part of verifiers, but replicators cannot verify their own replications. For this, we designed the verification scheme to ensure that participants are adequately validated, file replication is intact and secure, and verifiers challenge replicators accordingly.

With the cross-verification protocol, files are split into several replicators. Split data parts are then encoded with a secret key plus metadata for verification. These are then sent to the replicators. With the data parts stored in the replicators, replicators will then verify each other. This mechanism enables further validation to check the number of copies produced and decrease the chances of cheating or gaming.

PoCA/Free Market
We came up with a new version of the market selection process that we are calling Free Market. This is essentially an improvement to PoCA Market. It is a simpler and more evenly distributed decentralised market selection process for storage nodes. An in-depth explanation of this new market selection concept will be included in the upcoming technical whitepaper update.

We have also launched and showcased the ProximaX Identity system that was built in collaboration with 482.solutions. This system was heavily showcased during ProximaX’s participation at BlockchainUA in Ukraine and IoT Asia 2019 in Singapore.

Our technology team has been focusing on defining the token economics framework and stabilising the blockchain server code as well as the software development kits. In addition, we've coordinated with Hacken (https://hacken.io) to perform the necessary steps to audit the code implementation of our blockchain server code. It is a crucial to ensure the correctness, robustness, and security of the ProximaX Sirius platform.

Other updates include the development of the storage cli (command line interface), completion of cross-block verification implementation, supercontracts design refinement and development, review and further improvements to the technical whitepaper including the token economy and main network release preparation activities.

ProximaX Appoints Hacken as a Cyber Security Auditor

Although blockchain technology offers inherently secure properties, the blockchain environment is still susceptible to various technology risks. Continued independent and unbiased third party assurance is vital for creating a stable and robust architecture for the ProximaX Sirius platform and ProximaX apps. This includes auditing our code and controls to test for security, availability, processing integrity, privacy and confidentiality.

ProximaX has appointed Hacken as one of its security auditors. Hacken’s audit will form part of a multilevel approach to testing and verifying the integrity of the ProximaX Sirius platform and ProximaX mobile wallets prior to main network launch.

National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) Appoints ProximaX for Its Blockchain Services

ProximaX appointed by the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) of Malaysia to blockchain NIOSH’s certification process.

NIOSH was established as a company limited by guarantee on 24th June 1992 by the Ministry of Human Resources, Malaysia. NIOSH’s function is to provide training, consultation services, disseminate information, and conduct research in the field of occupational safety and health. NIOSH’s vision is to be a leading centre of excellence in occupational safety and health in Malaysia, with a mission to provide practical solutions in the field of occupational safety and health.

Earlier this year, ProximaX proposed to NOISH the use of blockchain technology to manage the issuance, notarisation, and verification of their certificates by adding a security layer that hashes and easily inserts the certification data onto the blockchain. ProximaX partners with Artemiz Innovations for National Security Surveillance from Satellites, powered by Blockchain

ProximaX Enters China

Strategic Partnership with Hurricane Ecology to boost storage availability for ProximaX ecosystem

SHENZHEN, CHINA - ProximaX has signed a strategic partnership with Hurricane Ecology, a China-based blockchain project that is building an intelligent ecosystem and infrastructure for video data storage, data processing and application development.

ProximaX Inaugural Meetup in Vietnam!

The future of blockchain adoption took center stage at a meetup on September 21, 2019 at the Huong Sen Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City. ProximaX Launches Its Mainnet!

WHAT IS A MAINNET AND WHAT IS ITS SIGNIFICANCE?

A mainnet is usually an open-source blockchain project that has a peer-to-peer connected network of multiple computer servers known as nodes. The function of this mainnet is to enable the transfer of digital assets between parties. Hence, a mainnet is simply the main network where actual transactions take place on a distributed ledger.

It is a much-anticipated and significant milestone for any blockchain project and is often preceded by several testnets. Testnets can be likened to being a prototype of a mainnet, utilizing the same technology but in a simulated environment. In a testnet environment, digital assets have no real value outside the test environment, unlike the mainnet, where transactions conducted using the project’s native digital asset have real economic value. In short, a mainnet can be deemed as the production rollout of a public blockchain project.

An evening of Distributed Ledger Technology: 482.solutions & ProximaX meetup, Kuala Lumpur

21 November 2019 – ProximaX and Ukrainian tech partner, 482.solutions held a joint meetup at the ProximaX office in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. This lively event was attended by 40 members of the Ukrainian community, corporates, and technology enthusiasts.

The event started with Lon Wong, CEO of ProximaX giving an update of ProximaX’s development and latest solutions. This was followed by an address by Roman Kravchenco, the CEO, CTO and co-founder of 482.solutions. Roman gave an insightful account of Ukraine’s stance with regards to education and emphasis on technology, and its advanced technological adoption at a national level.

Philippine Start-Up Week 2019: Quezon City Tech Day

Philippine Startup Week 2019 is the country’s first collaborative initiative by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), QBO Innovation Hub and other private agencies, to showcase the Filipino startup community through nationwide events.

Quezon City Tech Day brought together the lively local start-up community where each introduced their respective business and discussed how start-ups could be further supported to encourage innovation and growth.

Abundent partners ProximaX as systems integrator

Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain: a Perfect Match!

ProximaX hosted their new system integrator, Abundent, and guests at the ProximaX Accelerator Centre for a discussion on how artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain can work together.

Blockchain is a distributed and decentralized ledger of transactions that uses cryptography and encryption for data security, integrity, and immutability. On the other hand, AI with machine learning (ML), makes use of a series of algorithms to learn from a vast resource of data to help make decisions.

Blockchain being a repository of transactions and data makes it an appropriate environment for ML to perform data analytics on-chain. Coupled with distributed storage, ProximaX Sirius presents itself as a very powerful platform to coexist with AI/ML.

LSE ReCode Tech Conference

ProximaX was honoured to be part of the LSE ReCode Tech Conference 2019 organized by the London School of Economics alumni in Kuala Lumpur last week.

The inaugural conference, which was attended by Dame Minouche Shafik, Director of the LSE and former the Deputy Governor of the Bank of England was aimed at providing a platform for LSE alumni corporates to explore corporate innovation with a special focus on fintech and blockchain.

Sue Ng, Director of Global Marketing and Communications moderated a panel discussion titled, “Shaping the 4th Industrial Revolution with Blockchain”. The panel comprised of experienced blockchain leaders from Malaysia including Mark Pui from MW Partners, Reuben Yap, COO of ZCoin and our very own Lon Wong, CEO of ProximaX.

The panel discussed how blockchain technology will impact 4th Industrial Revolution (“4IR”). Lon and Mark explained that blockchain will be an invisible core player in this era of technological revolution. Lon further said that a blockchain-powered technology stack such as ProximaX Sirius would be a good development platform to complement 4IR.

The panel also highlighted a dearth of talent in the country and that in order to support 4IR it is imperative for Malaysia to develop talent locally.

ProximaX and two of its partners, BESC and Abundent also set up booths at the conference’s Houghton Street Tech Showcase which was visited by many of the 200 plus conference attendees.

Japanese blockchain system integrator LCNEM to work with ProximaX on Cosmos integration

Sirius Chain, a derivative of the Catapult blockchain project developed by Tech Bureau Inc., will soon be part of the Cosmos realm.

LCNEM, our new system integrator based in Japan, will work with us on crystalizing Cosmos integration, and enlarging the coverage of ProximaX Sirius as part of the Cosmos interoperability solution.

Connecting blockchains is at the heart of interoperability and Cosmos is designed to facilitate it. Integrating Sirius Chain with Cosmos would greatly enhance our scalability, and bring with it the ability to exchange assets with other blockchains within the Cosmos network.

Doc On Chain launches a tamper-proof digital signature solution, powered by the ProximaX blockchain

Businesses and administrations now have a secure way of managing documents such as invoices and certificates with Doc on Chain’s “D.O.C” platform. This all-in-one Software as a Service solution (“SaaS”) will first be launched in South Asia.

HONG KONG – Dec. 19, 2019  –  In emerging countries, digital signature technology is a fast-growing industry.  Experts expect this market to be valued globally at USD 5.5 billion by 2023.  The emergence of a “mobile first” generation combined with blockchain technology will improve efficiency, workflow and security when it comes to signing and managing documents, while significantly reducing cost.

Year in Review 2019 by Lon Wong

In 2018, we launched our ProximaX Sirius private net platform within 6 months. It was easy because there was no consensus mechanism that calls for rewards. We planned the design of the reward system for the consensus mechanism in late 2018 and this continued in 2019. The coding of the consensus mechanism, which is an improved version of NXT’s Proof of Stake, began in the first quarter of this year.

2019 has been yet another momentous year for us. First, we had to deal with a moving target of the Catapult code development as it evolved itself. Next, we had to finish the consensus mechanism, the reward strategy, and finally, deal with the swap process of porting over the entire XPX from NEM’s NIS1 chain.

At the same time, we needed to develop the market space. Our emphasis has always been on enterprise and government while we concurrently grow the public mainnet which requires more design input.

We finally launched our mainnet on 25th. September 2019. I should say, our developers have been superb in getting this done within 6 months upon firming up the consensus mechanism design. We are the first to launch a public network based on the Catapult technology, even ahead of Catapult’s public chain release. Our secret sauce has been the strategy we came out with to launch the mainnet ahead of Catapult itself. We have also developed a mechanism for automatic future upgrades. Upgrades will only occur once we have reviewed and decided to merge code that is relevant for our purpose. We have added in many more subtle yet powerful features for the blockchain, including modifying the plugin code to cater for more functionalities. We have tweaked the performance of the technology to be more resilient and resolved some of the bug issues present in the original solution.

This year, we also started designing the Supercontract, a different approach to on-chain smart contracts. We have named it Supercontract because we believe that this is a far more superior approach to what is currently available in the market. Any failure of the Supercontract does not affect the entire blockchain and it is much more efficient and flexible. It has many features of the traditional smart contract but with the added advantage of being massively scalable without burdening the performance of the blockchain. Additionally, one does not need to learn a new language to be able to program a Supercontract. Any of the common programming languages such as Golang, Java, or C++ can be used to program a Supercontract. Another great feature of our Supercontract is that it can optionally be started or stopped based on consensus and is completely decentralized in approach.

The design philosophy of the ProximaX Sirius platform is about parallel and decentralized processing, thereby giving enormous breadth and depth in performance and scalability.

Two4one and ProximaX to roll out first-of-its-kind Electronic Gift Card Solution for managing relief packages in Africa

NAIROBI / SINGAPORE – 13 APRIL 2020 – Two4one App Ltd (“Two4one”), a Nairobi-based technology company, has been commissioned by the Centum Foundation to roll out its ProximaX Sirius-based Electronic Gift Card Solution (“EGC Solution”) to manage the Centum Foundation’s COVID-19 Relief Program.

The Centum Foundation is a non-profit subsidiary of Centum Investment Company (“Centum”) Plc set up to mobilize the Centum Group’s existing corporate social investment with impactful, scalable, and sustainable initiatives that empower communities.

Stanely Njenga, CEO of Two4one, explained:

“With the onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is imperative that relief efforts act not only quickly, but find an effective means of helping the poor and vulnerable whose lives depend on hand-to-mouth wages.  We have partnered with ProximaX because of their track record of rapidly developing and deploying solutions using their advanced blockchain technology.” 

The EGC Solution developed by ProximaX for Two4one will track items using the ProximaX Sirius public blockchain.  Distribution records captured by this solution are immutable and tamper-evident, and any discrepancy can immediately be traced thus minimizing the risk of abuse or leakages.  Initially, the program will deploy relief packages to 12,000 recipients with the objective of scaling this to 30,000 recipients and beyond.

A recent food distribution program in Kenya had created major chaos when a massive congregation of people rushed to the collection point with complete disregard for social distancing.  This resulted in the government banning the program. The EGC Solution used by Centum will be the first instance in which state-of-the-art technology is being utilized for crowd control by way of batched and controlled release of EGCs.

Centum, which runs Two Rivers Mall, one of the biggest malls in Kenya, is working with major supermarkets like Carrefour and Tuskys to use this solution to distribute relief packages.

Lon Wong, CEO of ProximaX, said:

“We’ve been working with Two4one on a number of other initiatives.  When there was a call in Kenya for a fast and effective solution to manage the distribution of basic necessities, Two4one was quick to step up to offer our technology.  Within a week, we created a working solution that has now been fine-tuned for deployment. This was made possible by the ProximaX Sirius platform, which is holistic and easy to develop on.”

This project further proves the strength of the ProximaX Sirius platform solution, demonstrating yet again that anyone reasonably skilled is able to whip out a solution in days.

Two4one will be working closely with Centum to ensure a successful rollout and provide ongoing support.  At the same time, Two4one will continue to promote the use of this EGC Solution as an effective means of distributing relief packages throughout Kenya and other African nations.

Thank you for replying. It has been a while since I was here. My account got hijacked as well in between and used by some german guy. Been wanting to get back in here. ProximaX has done a lot since its inception. I reckon we are ahead of the curve now with things happening in a more positive manner. Some of the notable projects we did were:

Government:
Ministry of Community Development (“MOCD”), United Arab Emirates - voting and notary application.
National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (“NIOSH”), Malaysia - certification traceability platform.
Securities Industry Development Corporation (“SIDC”), Malaysia - enterprise resource planning (“ERP”) system.

Enterprises:
Doc on Chain, Philippines - electronic documents signing and storage platform - Docusign version on chain
Dragonfly Fintech, Cambodia - mobile wallet app for fiat currency.
Two4one, Kenya - COVID-19 food distribution app.

There are a few more but they are all "under construction".

In the meantime, we are working to complete our eDLX solution - an exchange that is driven by blockchain for the securities market. I had written something about it much earlier but we finally got it developed.

Of particular interest that we are working on is the Self-Sovereign Identity, a digital identity using blockchain technology. We are an official contributing member to the W3C forum

Recently, we have been certified by the NIST Cryptographic Algorithm Validation Program, one of the few blockchain solutions out there who are verified.

We are getting there, albeit not as fast as I have wished but still we have come a long way, especially since that we are one of the few surviving newer projects of 2018.

In the meantime, we are also looking out for developers who will want to develop interesting apps like DeFi. We do have our very own Supercontract, our version of a smart contract. If some of you have followed me earlier, I din't think an on-chain smart contract was ever a clever design. We have come out with a version of our own that I believe is more acceptable for most situations, including for mainstream development.

In fact the platform is now ready for people to want to develop any app on the stack.

Singapore / 8th July 2020 – ProximaX SiriusID Decentralized Identifier (“DID”) method was accepted and published by the World Wide Web Consortium (“W3C”), the leading international standards organization for the Web. The W3C DID standards are designed to enable interoperability of identification systems across different autonomous decentralized networks.

A DID is a new unique type of identity identifier that enables verifiable and decentralized digital identities.  It allows individuals and organizations to generate identifiers using trusted systems and to prove control of those identifiers (authenticate) using cryptographic proofs (for example, digital signatures, privacy-preserving biometric protocols, and so on).

ProximaX Sirius to power LOGYCA Supply Chain Value Network

Bogotá, Colombia, 24th August 2020 – ProximaX recently signed an agreement with LOGYCA to develop a platform utilizing blockchain technology to power their Supply Chain Value Network (“SCVN”).

LOGYCA is a pioneer and a leader in logistics knowledge development, and innovator in SCVN for different economic sectors in Colombia and Latin America. SCVN is a next stage evolution of Supply Chain. It reconciles the Supply Chain with Porter’s model1. Through collaborative work, communities are formed to generate value by adopting globally accepted standards and introducing best logistics practices in inter-company processes.

Under the framework of this project, “Transformation of B2B Information Exchange”, ProximaX and LOGYCA will come together to develop a collaborative platform to address the limitations of traditional technology. National Institute of Standards and Technology and CyberSecurity Malaysia Certification

We are delighted to announce that ProximaX has been certified by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (“NIST”) headquartered in Maryland, USA. At the same time, ProximaX also received certification from CyberSecurity Malaysia, a government agency under the purview of the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia in Malaysia.

Founded in 1901, NIST is one of America’s oldest physical sciences and measurement standards laboratories. By advancing measurement science, standards, and technology, NIST’s mission is to promote innovation and industrial competitiveness to enhance economic security and bring overall improvement to the quality of life. The ProximaX Sirius blockchain received an endorsement from NIST through the Cryptographic Algorithm Validation Program, one of the globally accepted standards for cryptographic algorithm validation.

CyberSecurity Malaysia was founded as a national body to monitor Malaysian national e-security and provide a range of innovation-led activities to enhance and strengthen cybersecurity matters within Malaysia. Here the Sirius blockchain was certified under Cryptographic Algorithm Conformance testing. This type of certification is a prerequisite for most government projects in Malaysia.

Electronic voting powered by blockchain at the National University of Malaysia

Congratulations to the Faculty of Economics and Management (“FEM”) of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia or the National University of Malaysia for conducting their first-ever blockchain-powered e-voting process!

This election saw a total of 757 students take to the polls on 7th November 2020 to exercise their democratic rights in electing representatives for the faculty. While the election of student representatives isn’t something new, this year’s process was done via e-voting using ProximaX Sirius technology.

It is no secret that traditional balloting systems have many weaknesses. Just last week, the US 2020 general elections saw reports and allegations of voter fraud, intimidation, and lost ballots. Driven by these inherent flaws and the need for social distancing due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the forward-looking FEM ran their student council elections using the Sirius Blockchain Voting application (“SBV”).

The use of blockchain technology in voting can ensure that votes cast are immutable, irreversible, and tamper-evident. Furthermore, voters can be anonymized, and voting can be done without the need for physical presence, a feature especially relevant given the new normal set by COVID-19. The use of this technology also enables vote counting to be automated and taking place in real-time, thereby not only saving time but eradicating errors in physical ballot counting, mishandling, and cheating.

ProximaX Sirius Storage & Supercontract has Launched

We are pleased to announce the successful deployment of the Sirius Storage and Supercontract service layers. This release marks a significant development milestone for the ProximaX Sirius platform.

What is Sirius Storage?
Sirius Storage is a distributed file-sharing environment whereby participants can utilize their unused disk space to offer storage services on the Sirius Chain. The comprehensive reward scheme algorithm allows for flexible storage services based on market supply and demand. There are a couple of key actors within the Sirius Storage ecosystem. These are the Storage Director and the Storage Replicator nodes.

Storage Director Node (SDN) – A node service that allows consumers to access the storage system. An SDN hosts and stages files that will subsequently be uploaded into Storage Replicator nodes at a cost based on the replication needed by the consumer. SDNs provide the middle layer between storage users and Storage Replicator nodes.

Storage Replicator Node (SRN) – A node service that collects and stores all content uploaded by SDNs to be stored away for a fee. To address redundancy, the network stores a file in a minimum of three or more SRNs. SRNs are therefore, the backbone of the service and are essential to the resiliency of the network.

What is Supercontract?
As part of the ProximaX Sirius framework and protocol, the Supercontract is a service layer within this framework. It is an enhanced smart contract solution that simplifies building digital executable contracts on top of Sirius Chain. It leverages the Sirius Storage service to store, replicate, and execute these contracts to add to the reliability of any system that uses it.

Who benefits from these innovations?
The Sirius project is built as an application development framework and infrastructure for the decentralized web. The approach and architecture in addition to superior blockchain features and functions, make it compelling and beneficial for those who want or are looking to leverage distributed technology for data distribution, edge computing, data integrity, and resiliency, without needing to understand too much about blockchain technology.

Developers can use the platform to store large data objects that they can replicate across multiple SRNs. They can also host an SDN as an “edge” computing node to retrieve application data quickly. SDNs come with REST API endpoints and HTTP/S libraries for local and remote access.

Solution Architects can incorporate the platform’s capability to store, distribute, manage, and protect data into their designs. It can improve an organization’s infrastructure by leveraging trustless and permissionless public storage solutions or creating a cluster of SRNs to store sensitive and confidential data privately.

Business Operators can design a storage solution by forming clusters of SDNs, incentivizing SRNs to store their customers’ data. Accordingly, business operators can take advantage of the market supply and demand pricing for storage.

Year in Review 2020 by Lon Wong

2020 has been a rather uneventful year, specifically how Covid-19 has hit the world so hard and impacted global mobility and businesses. Naturally, ProximaX was affected by the pandemic insofar as its progress was concerned.

The Sirius Chain has clocked over 2.625 million blocks now and has shown to be working smoothly since its launch on 25th September 2019. However, in 2020, we fell short of our target to launch the Storage, Supercontract, and Stream. Although the Storage and Supercontract were launched on the mainnet in the last quarter of 2020, the plan was to launch it much earlier. The reason for the late launch was the reward mechanism that we were trying to work on, as well as some of the limitations in the Supercontract working hand in hand with the Storage. This resulted in us going back to the drawing board often. More improvements are expected in the coming months.

Essentially, we are nine months behind time as we play catchup this year. We shall be tweaking the Storage and Supercontract and also prepare to launch the streaming component. SDKs, APIs, and tools shall be developed further. We will put more effort into working on the Supercontract as we believe this will be a driving factor later for a more holistic ecosystem.

Sirius Stream Testnet Launched!

We are pleased to announce the launch of the Sirius Stream service layer on the ProximaX Sirius platform test network. This launch includes a software development kit (SDK) and a proof of concept application.
What is Sirius Stream?

Sirius Stream is a fully anonymous, end-to-end encrypted messaging and video streaming protocol and framework. This service layer utilizes the Sirius Stream Protocol (SSP) for secure and high performance real-time messaging and streaming services.

Sirius Stream has two core services:

Storage Streaming
Storage streaming is an extension of the Sirius Storage service layer that enables platform users to stream pre-recorded content (e.g., movies and videos). Solution providers can use the service to power a Netflix or YouTube type app.

Live Streaming
Live streaming is an independent streaming service layer that utilizes Sirius Chain for identification and incentivization. It allows for real-time broadcasting and sharing of content (e.g., chat, phone calls, and video conferencing), which forms the basis for short text messaging and multimedia or hybrid systems, like WhatsApp and Zoom.

Sirius Stream is a service that allows streaming through an open node ecosystem. Like Sirius Storage, it will also come with different system actors to facilitate a secure and performant service. The network incentivizes public nodes to provide a streaming service.  According to free-market principles, streaming nodes are selected by the system, taking into account node reputation and a selection mechanism.

Malaysia-based energy-saving project, Blockchain Energy Saving Consortium, or BESC, was initiated to help create a more sustainable future by mitigating climate change. TESTNET READY FOR SWAPPING XPX INTO BINANCE AND ETHEREUM CHAINS

ProximaX has developed a simple swapping solution to swap XPX into the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) and Ethereum chain. This solution was created as a result of many requests to list XPX in other exchanges because the current exchanges which XPX is listed in lack reputation, trust, liquidity, and reach.

BSC and Ethereum both have decentralized exchanges and any coin can be exchanged to a second coin in these decentralized exchanges, e.g., Pancake Swap in BSC and Uniswap in Ethereum. We have created this feature and are about to launch it in both BSC and Ethereum.

Storage seems to be underway for a few weeks now in testnet. We will be issuing an upgrade announcement notice on the chain soon. This will include fast finality, DBRB, SDA-SDA exchange, storage and streaming  layer features. This is a major upgrade to the chain.

Once that is smooth and running, we can look at rolling out the storage solution.

Barring unforeseen circumstances this should happen very soon and completed within the next few weeks. 🤞
