Hi all,

I've been setup two wallets to test if the bitcoin transfer works. The following are the transfer details occured in 7/29:

http://blockexplorer.com/tx/f5e211ae964e7d518ec1e3f5febb3c42357461eda4b6ac8e8363f0000237e3b6#o0
From: 1P6KMP6PwaZYVhXHEh9FTqDrWUjUuboSsX
To: 1GbsaPxTRqtLVsbhe6bZSDCzhyKZnfoTDQFK
Total BTC in: 0.011
Transfer fee: 0.0005
Total BTC out: 0.0105

Three days had gone, my wallet still didn't show the bitcon transferred in (0.0105 BTC).

Is there anything I've missed? Or transfers in bitcon network is really that slow?!

always check the blockcount on http://blockexplorer.com/q/getblockcount matches the count on your bitcoin client before panicking about missing bitcoins

Be sure to forward port 8333 to the client to speed up the process of downloading the blockchain.  3 days suggests that other peers can't connect to your client (it is P2P after all).

Thanks everyone. I finally found the reason I hadn't received the bitcoin transferred.

The reason is that I use the same directory where my bitcoin client located, and only change the "wallet.dat" to another account.

Now I know that each "wallet.dat" should be in a dedicated directory for the bitcoin client. The accounts behave normally.

You can use the Bitcoin Block Explorer (blockexplorer.com) to check whether a transaction has come through. In your case, if you check http://blockexplorer.com/address/1GaPxTRqtLVsbhe6bZSDCzhyKZnfoTDQFK  you can see the details of the transaction that added BTC 0.0105 to your receiving address. This is often more reliable than using the client because: 1) the client may not have downloaded the whole block chain yet, and 2) you could have swapped different wallet.dat files (for example if you keep one for savings and another one for everyday use) and you may be online with the wrong wallet.dat file. Remember that you don't have to activate a wallet.dat file to receive payments.
