Bitcoin Mining vs Meth Labs

Hi all,

Just thought about something, I saw some video's of mining rigs today.
I noticed there are a lot of rigs based in basements, somewhere on the ground, in a broom closet, stacked up in a tiny room etc..
It reminded me of meth labs. It has the same kind of messy look yet still it is orderly for the addict.

The addict can't stop making more of where he is working for. Until his house burns down, the cops come on or the exchange/dealer is shut down by the government.

Well you could have a SWAT team busting down your door. Homes have been raided on nothing more that 'excessive power use' and 'suspicious hot spots seen on IR'

Of course they are thinking they are busting a grow house so you probably won't get arrested. But if you have a dog there is a very high chance it will be shot.

I think it is funny. The others are nerds with no sense of humor. Or maybe they are embarrassed because those pictures look just like their rooms in their parents' basements.

I lived in an ex meth lab for 8 months.  I was popping ten cough drops a day, heart racing all night long. crashing out hard.  I was watching tv, 20/20 half crashed/fucked and they did a segment on meth labs, I was just like "Oh"  and I got the fuck out of there.  when I got back to my real home I set up my rig in the basement and was getting 600 mh/s with a power draw of 300 watts.  and then those asic came out and I retired my machine.  I now have to underclock the memory on that card or else I'll get artifacts.
