Why is my L3+ miner doing 930-950 watts instead of the rated 800 watts?

Why is my miner doing far above the rated 800 watts? All the people ive seen are right on the money with their miners at 800 watts. Even if we factor in the +/- 10%, the miner shouldnt be over 880 watts. 930-950 watts seems way off.

What could be the issue? Appreciate any help i can get!

Maybe the PSU isn't great.. or even the PSU power cord can make a difference if its not good or maybe not high amp rated

Nope its on the factor 384nm

The psu is the factory bitmain APW3++ brand new. The L3+ miner is also brand new been running for about 30 hours. I'm on 120v. The power cable a decent one. 16 awg, 105*C rated, 300v, 3 feet.

It's because you are on 120V. That PSU is less efficient on 120V. If you can try a 240V source.

Another reason can be the way you measured the power. How did you measure it? Killawatt? Current clamp?

I will try a 240 in the garage. I have it plugged into a meter that reads watts, volts, amps, kwh, etc. and that meter is plugged into the outlet. Also the antminer browser/IP home page thing, it says 7.9 amps under the "Usage".

So i plugged it into the garage at 240 but i realized i dont have a 240 tester/meter lol. How can i find out what the wattage or amps is? Cant find any 240 watt meters. I do know that the only thing hooked up to that 240 circuit is the miner.

Now check the "amps" again on your Antminer configuration page (IP), now it should be ±3.5A.

Is your 120v outlet connected to another circuit or outlet somewhere in your house?
Because if it does, your Voltmeter will also read the lights, fans, etc's power consumption if those were connected to the outlet where your Antminer was previously plugged.

I checked the "utility" in the antminer configuration page when it was plugged into 240 but it still showed 7.9 amps. That cant be right.

I wasnt using a volt meter i was using a watt meter so it only reads whatever you plug into it. But I cant use this watt meter on the 240 because the prongs are different on 240 and 120.
