Most members seem to be under the misapprehension that merit and activity are there to help upgrade posters. Well they aren't. There is only one factor that drives upgrading, and that is post count. Activity is a barrier to control high frequency posters, and merit is a barrier to block low quality spam posters.
Please respect both of these protective measures that have been introduced to restore the usability of the forum, and be aware that they are working well at the moment. The effects have become noticeable.

I apologise for creating yet another thread about these topics, but very few people seem to be aware that they are designed to be barriers, and they are constantly attempting to tear them down.

The network tries to produce one block per 10 minutes. It does this by automatically adjusting how difficult it is to produce blocks.

1. Activity is controlling high frequency posters
2. Merit is controlling post quality.
... It's a good realisation.

People out there who are wondering why is this activities and why is this merit, why not just count number of posts - they have their answers now.

Bottom-line is keep posting (focus on creating good contents, engaging with topics, create constructive conversations so that others get benefit from it).

PS: Goodluck on FitToTalk @OP

Be happy be at peace. Looking forward to BTC at $1M
