Are there any UK based Bitcoin holders who could advise on best method?

Obviously, their was the TW currency exchange that offered a more palatable fee (hidden fee) than bank transfer, but they have suspended all payments to Bitcoin exchanges.

Then i have just tried Forex UK, and much to my surprise, my mother (whose house my bank account is registered at) just got a confirmation call from them when I went to make a 5K transfer........fk that, and fk them, quite frankly.

Then there is obviously Localbitcoins.com, but the prices on their tend to track the MtGox premiums and at the time being are 20-30 quid over spot....again, fk that.

EDIT:

And you can add ForexUK to that list of money changers who dont fund Bitcoin exchanges.

Bitfinex victims. DO NOT TOUCH THE BFX TOKEN! Start moving it around, or trading it, and you will be construed as having accepted it as an alternative means of payment to your USD, BTC, etc.

I use my NatWest account with internet banking/international transfer.  Never had a problem, just did another transfer an hour ago.

Ten pound fee for the transfer, funds will be in my BitStamp account tomorrow.

U pay top dollar for using bank transfer.

On a 5K transfer you are losing about 160GBP one way.

I finally transferred using Post Office (HiFx) International Money Transfer....not the best rates but better than a bank.

The fee I pay is 10 pounds, whether 500 or 5,000 pounds.
