Not entirely true, if the total supply of a coin is increasing but at the same time the demand goes high causing the price to stabilize or even go higher, the market capitalization will be surely adds up equal to the inital supply + additional supply.
Although majority of coin when there's additional supply released, the value will go down really fast.

Market went down after the April surge but now it seems to be rather bullish again because we are awaiting mainly for the EFT to be approved by the SEC for the CBOE to start it off.
