Yes there are some limitations for newbies, there is a wait time from one post to another post (360 seconds), and maxim number of private messages per day (2).

There is no limit for day I think for newbies. You need to maintain the 6 minutes while making the new posts after each post. There is no gap to maintain for day and all as I said.
But when the send the pm to anyone. They use to receive the caution message including your personal message.
If they want to pm also they need to check the box saying allow send the pm to newbies I think.

Im not really sure about it but I know there is no existing limit post for anyone we all only have that activity limit every 2 weeks which is 14 for evey half of the month.

There also seem to be limitations as to which discussions newbys are allowed to post in. For example, I am not allowed to post in the 'Serious discussion' forum (despite my utter lack of humour).

There also seem to be limitations as to which discussions newbys are allowed to post in. For example, I am not allowed to post in the 'Serious discussion' forum (despite my utter lack of humour).

This makes me wonder how many posts are made just so users will be able to take part in the discussions of their choosing but I assume the admins have done the math and made it this way on purpose.
